Chapter 17: The Alolan Sunset

 They immediately started packing bags. They were greeted by Delia, who had breakfast ready before they left.

Ash and Serena ate their breakfast. However, they soon finished their breakfast and went to the airport. "Flight 940 on Lunala Airlines is boarding right now. All passengers please board the flight." 

Ash and Serena got on the flight, and made it to Alola 8 hours later.

Serena couldn't believe what she saw. "Wow, this looks beautiful!" said Serena. Ash, of course, being the not dense human being he was before... "Not as beautiful as you, Sere." said Ash.

Serena started blushing. Since when was Ash so flirty? 

"Well, there should be someone picking us up right now..." said Ash. A car drove by and stopped, and out the door came Professor Kukui with Professor Burnet, who was carrying Lei.

"Alola, Ash! How have you..." Professor Burnet noticed Serena beside Ash. "Oh! Ash said he'd be coming with someone...but I never expected it to be Serena herself! I've seen your Showcases before!" said Burnet. "O-Oh! Thanks!" said Serena. "Ash mentioned me while talking to someone? He must trust these guys really well..." thought Serena.

Lei waved at Ash.

"So, what specifically made you bring the first girl you ever met, who you also traveled with in Kalos, who is also Kalos Queen, who is also Top Coordinator?" said Kukui. Serena was trying not to blush, since she knew what Ash was about to say.

"Well, erm...uhh...she's, uhh...my...uhh...girlfriend..." said Ash. 

"So that's why you spoke that highly of her when we were texting..." said Burnet. "Well, I'm impressed, Ash. You didn't even know what love was until we got married, didn't you?" said Kukui.

"Yeah, I guess he did." said Serena. Serena leaned on Ash's shoulder and whispered to him. "Ashy, who are these people?" 

Ash realized he hadn't introduced them yet. "Oh, these are Professors Kukui and Burnet! And that's Lei!"  They got married a while ago, and they were basically my parents for the time I was in Alola." said Ash.

Kukui and Burnet felt happy to know Ash thought of them like that. "Oh, ok!" said Serena. "And one day we'll be the ones taking care of a baby..." thought Serena. 

"Well, why don't you guys hop in? It's kinda late anyways. You can stay at our house, Serena!" said Kukui. "Yeah, let's go, Serena!" said Ash. "O-Ok..." she said.

They headed to Kukui and Burnet's house, while Ash pointed out things on the way. "So, that's the Pokemon School!" said Ash. "The Pokemon School? Like, a school-school?" said Serena. "Yep! I used to go there! Professor Kukui works as a teacher there, and Professor Oak's cousin is the principal!" said Ash. "You and school are two words I never thought could be together. Did you make any friends over there?" said Serena.

"Well, there was Kiawe, Sophocles, Lana, Lillie, and Mallow. But in this whole region I met people like Ilima, Acerola, Hapu, Gladion, who is Lillie's brother, and a lot more!" said Ash. 

"Sounds like you've got a lot of friends, Ash. How comes you never tell me about them?" said Serena. "Well, I just don't have the time to...we normally talk about other things together." said Ash. 

Serena smiled and blushed, until she hit a realization. "Wait. Ash. You met THREE girls at the school. You don't like any of them...do you?" said Serena. She had never been this yandere before, but she wanted to know.

Ash held Serena's hands. "Of course I don't Serena. Why would I like anyone else other than you?" said Ash. Serena sighed in relief. "Oh, come on. I know you just didn't like them because you were too dense to see love." said Serena, while putting her hand on Ash's left cheek.
