Harry went right to sleep the moment that he returned to the manor. Collapsing onto his bed without even getting undressed. The last thing he had heard was Remus letting out a soft laugh. The first thing he noticed the next morning was that Remus must have changed his clothes and tucked him in, since he was wearing a set of comfy blue pyjamas and was under the covers. Stretching, Harry was relieved to see that all the weariness was gone from his bones after a good night's rest. He changed into a new set of robes before heading down the stairs for breakfast.
Once he entered a part of the house where the curtains were actually open Harry noticed that the sun was already well on the way to being at its peak. He had slept in. That was unusual, ever since he was young Harry had been an early riser, he must have been even more worn out than he had thought.
Shrugging to himself, Harry walked towards the dining hall. Remus wasn't there, but after seeing how late it was Harry didn't expect him to be. There was already a plate with toast and bacon on the table, Mipsy must have noticed he was awake. "Thanks Mipsy," Harry said aloud. He would pay her for the first time today, he needed to remember that, she deserved it. He sat down to eat the breakfast before going to find Remus.
As he guessed, his godfather was reading in the sitting room. Remus looked up and smiled when Harry walked in. "Morning Harry."
"Morning," Harry smiled back. He glanced at the clock on one of the walls, just after 11, very late then.
Remus caught his look and smiled again. "I thought you deserved to sleep in," he said.
"Thanks," Harry took a seat beside him. "I feel much better than I would have if I woke up earlier I think."
"Good," Remus nodded. He placed a bookmark in his book and put it on the side table. "Any plans for the day?"
Harry thought for a moment, "I wanted to look into why the Peverell magic took so much out of me, but that can wait... maybe it's time we finally explore the grounds?"
Remus grinned. "It has been a while since I've looked around, let's do it."
Fifty acres of lands was actually really big. That was one of the first things Harry decided once he and Remus had left the small, fenced off garden behind the manor, past the pitch and into the large piece of woods that belonged to him. "There should be a pond somewhere here where the murtlap will be," Remus said, looking around.
"And there is a kneazle pride here," Harry said. "They're little cats right?"
"Yes," Remus nodded. "Larger than regular cats but very similar looking. They are smarter though, so be nice." Harry nodded.
The two walked through the woods for a bit longer until the sound of a hiss caught Harry's attention. He paused and turned his head slowly. A small, feline shape was stalking towards them through the undergrowth. Remus had paused too, and he stared at what must be one of the kneazles. It kept moving forward until it came into the light between the trees and then paused. Harry stared at it with wide eyes.
It was beautiful, with spotted silver fur and large yellow eyes. "Hello," Harry said softly. He knelt down, making sure to move slowly and not startle the creature. He held his hand out for it to smell. The kneazle stared at his hand for a moment before stalking forward and sniffing at it. After a moment of sniffing, the kneazle pressed its head against his hand. Harry smiled and scratched his fingers through the fur. He glanced up to see Remus smiling at him. It lasted a few moments before the sound of an animal calling made the kneazle pull away and run into the woods.
"It was so pretty," Harry said as he stood.
"It was," Remus nodded with a smile.
A cawing sound made Harry pause before he could answer and look up, an owl was flying above them, it circled a few times before taking off towards the house. "Someone has written," Harry said. "Let's go see who.
