The sun had set by the time Kaminari and Aiko arrived at her apartment after work. The air had cooled, carrying the crispness of October, and a calmness settled between them as they walked inside. Kaminari had been over to her place several times now, but each time felt just as special as the last. There was something about the simplicity of their time together that made everything feel... right.

"You hungry?" Aiko asked as she set her bag down and headed into the kitchen. "I was thinking I'd make something quick and healthy, if you're up for it."

Kaminari grinned, already making himself comfortable at the kitchen counter. "You know I'm always up for whatever you're cooking, babe. Just tell me if you need help."

Aiko smiled softly, shaking her head. "I've got it. You just relax."

As she moved around the kitchen, chopping vegetables and preparing their usual healthy dinner, the two of them fell into their familiar rhythm—laughing, teasing, and talking about their day. Kaminari told her about a funny mishap he'd had during a patrol, and Aiko shared some lighthearted stories about her work and the Halloween excitement.

"The kids were so excited about the decorations," Aiko said, smiling as she stirred the pot. "I think it's their favorite time of year."

"Makes sense," Kaminari replied. "Who doesn't love dressing up and eating a ton of candy? I'll admit, it's still one of my favorite holidays."

"I'll keep that in mind when I'm handing out candy," Aiko teased, glancing at him with a playful smirk.

After dinner, Aiko stood up and stretched, looking out the window at the dimly lit street. "You know... I've been meaning to put up some outdoor decorations for Halloween, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Want to help me?"

Kaminari immediately perked up, flashing her a grin. "Of course! I've got plenty of energy left for that. Let's do it."

With that, they both headed outside, carrying a few boxes of decorations that Aiko had stored away. As they started setting things up—stringing lights along the fence, placing pumpkins by the doorstep, and arranging a few spooky lawn ornaments—their conversation drifted into deeper territory.

"Do you remember the first time you ever went trick-or-treating?" Aiko asked, glancing over at Kaminari as they worked.

Kaminari paused for a moment, his eyes lighting up with the memory. "Yeah, I think I was, like, six? My costume was terrible, but I remember how much fun I had. It was one of those cheap store-bought superhero costumes. I think I went as 'Captain Dynamo' or something."

Aiko laughed softly, her gaze warm. "That sounds cute. I can totally picture you as a little superhero."

"Yeah, well, I guess I always knew what I wanted to be," Kaminari replied with a grin. "What about you? What was your first Halloween like?"

Aiko hesitated for a moment before answering. "It was a little different for me. My parents weren't really into Halloween, so I didn't go trick-or-treating until I was older. But I remember my friends and I sneaking out one year to join in, and it was magical. I felt like I was a part of something special."

Kaminari looked at her with a soft smile, sensing the layers behind her words. "Sounds like you've always found your way into the magic, huh?"

Aiko's eyes met his, her smile gentle. "Maybe. Or maybe I just learned to appreciate it more as I got older."

They continued decorating, their conversation flowing easily, each new piece they placed outside feeling like another step toward knowing each other more deeply. Despite how close they had grown, it felt like there was always something new to discover about one another—little pieces of their pasts, their hopes, their fears.

Once they finished decorating, they stood back to admire their work, the soft glow of the lights illuminating the yard in a warm, festive hue. Kaminari slipped his arm around Aiko's waist, pulling her close as they enjoyed the quiet moment together.

"We make a pretty good team," he said softly, his voice filled with affection.

"We do," Aiko agreed, leaning into him.

The night was peaceful, and the intimacy between them felt natural, as if being together like this was the most comfortable thing in the world. As the cool breeze brushed against them, Aiko hesitated for a moment before turning to Kaminari.

"You know... if you want to, you could stay over tonight," Aiko said, her voice soft but sure.

Kaminari blinked, his usual confidence replaced by a brief flicker of surprise. His cheeks reddened slightly, but a smile quickly followed. "Really? You sure?"

Aiko nodded, her gaze steady as she met his eyes. "Yeah, I'm sure. I'd like you to stay."

Kaminari's heart raced, but he didn't hesitate for long. "Then I'm staying," he replied, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and tenderness.

They headed back inside, and the atmosphere shifted—warmer, quieter, more intimate. The night had been filled with fun and laughter, but now, there was a sense of something deeper as they sat close to each other, hands gently intertwined. The connection between them had grown stronger over the past month, and tonight felt like a natural extension of that closeness.

As the night went on, their conversation became softer, their touches lingering. They both knew where things were headed, but there was no rush—just a shared understanding of what this moment meant for both of them.

When the time came, their intimacy wasn't just physical—it was an expression of everything they had built together. It was a way to show how much they cared for one another, how their feelings had deepened in ways that words couldn't quite capture. And when they finally fell asleep in each other's arms, there was a sense of peace and contentment that wrapped around them like a warm blanket.
