And you know what they all say, You don't know what you got until it's gone...Stop, you're losin' me
- You're Losing Me, Taylor Swift

"Now, how many men have you kissed?"
"Very few"
"But you offered me a kiss. Why?"
"Such a foolish reason, I'm afraid. I just wanted to kiss you"

You and Logan have finally made the jump and moved into a bigger room together, and things have been going well. You wake on your sixth monthiversary, reaching for his spot in bed, only to find it empty. You sit up, furrowing your brow.

"Baby?" You call out, standing. You're still naked from the night before, and you pick up your t-shirt and Logan's boxers off the ground, pulling them on and peering into the bathroom. Nothing. You're no stranger to Logan disappearing, sometimes days at a time, but usually he leaves a note. He never tells you where he goes, and you never ask. You fiddle with Logan's dog tags; that rest around your neck.

^flashback^

"Do you have to go?" You whispered, his packed suitcase rested on the bed.

"It's only for a little while, the professor needs me," he cups your cheek, kissing you reassuringly.

"Here," he takes his dog tags off, gently slipping them over your head. You take them in your hand, furrowing your brow.

"A promise, I'll always return to you my darlin'" he kissed you again, resting his forehead against yours. "I love you so much, never forget that, no matter how long I'm gone,"

^end of flashback^

You slipped out into the hall, bare feet padding softly against the floor as you walked towards professor Xavier's office. You knocked twice on the door, swallowing the lump in your throat. The door Opened, and I stepped inside. The look on the professor's face makes your heart drop.

"Has something happened?" You ask quietly.

He is facing away from you, looking out the window.

"Scott is... Scott is gone." He answers simply.

You know how people talk about that feeling right before your entire world comes crashing down? You know how that feels now.

^flashback^

You're sitting with Scott in the garage. He is working on his bike, and you're sitting on a stool sipping a bottle of root beer. Logan has been gone for almost a week. Over the last couple of months, you and Scott had grown quite close. It had been so long since you had a real friend, other than Logan or Wade, and it was nice.

"When do you think she'll be up and running?" You asked, putting the bottle down.

"Well, hard to say, but I've got faith in her," he stood back, his hands on his hips. A few more tweaks, and the bike engine revved to life. He cheered, and you clapped, jumping up to pat him on the shoulder.

"You wanna take her for a spin?" He asks.

"Seriously?" You giggle.

"Yea, here," he throws a helmet at you. You both jump on the bike, your arms wrapped around his waist, your face buried against his shoulder. You breathe in the scent of his cologne, and you can't help but feel a little hesitant. You hoped this wouldn't overstep any of Logan's unwritten rules.

As you raced down the mountain road, you let out a howl of joy, and he laughed along with you. After a while, he stopped the bike, and you both trekked through the forest, stopping at a cliff that overlooked the vast woodland expanse. You stared in awe as you sat down. The conversation flowed easily, and it felt a lot different than with Logan. Don't get me wrong, you loved your boyfriend with your whole heart, but with Scott... it felt easier, lighter, like you didn't need to work hard to impress him.
