You work in the kitchens on the Resolute, and absolutely love it! No one ever complains about the food, well not to your face at least, and you don't really have to interact with anyone. It's the same routine every day, which suits you perfectly.

If there's one thing you like, it's predictability. Odd, considering your predictable job is on board a Venator Class Star Destroyer, in the middle of the unpredictable Clone War.

Earlier that day, you met a very interesting trooper named Fives. He was sneaking into the kitchens to steal some extra sweets. But you caught him and yelled at him so hard that he ran straight out the door.

So now you stand at the countertop in the kitchens cutting up tonight's meal for all the troopers. You roll your eyes at the memory of Fives.

As you set part of tonight's meal on the serving trays, you hear a thud behind you.

You spin around to see the vent on the wall opened, and a trooper sprawled out on the floor in half blacks and half armor, his chin on the tile and his legs up against the wall near the vent. How elegant.

You walk up to him cautiously, gauging the situation. Would you have to yell at another trooper today? You hoped not.

"Get up!" You yell.

None other than Fives stands up before you with a bantha-poodoo eating grin on his face. Your stomach does a flip.

"I should've crawled through that vent backwards so I landed on my feet."

You stare at him dumb-founded. "You didn't think of using the door?"

Fives scratches the back of his neck. "No, that'd be too obvious."

"I'm sorry, what?" You ask.

Fives slowly steps around you awkwardly so he's not backed up against the wall with the vent. "Well, you see, I didn't want anyone else know I was coming here."

"Oh?" You fold your arms over your chest.

Fives gives a confident smile and leans his hands on the countertop. "I wanted to see you again." His hands land in a bowl of soup. He yelps and withdraws his hands, wiping them off on his blacks.

You stare at his hands, trying not laugh. "So, why did you come here again?"

"Oh! Well..." Fives takes a few steps closer to you. His face morphs into weird, overconfident smile as he raises his eyebrows. "Is your name Tatooine? Because you're hot and I'm lost without you."

You press your own lips together in a desperate attempt to keep from laughing. "Excuse me?"

Fives takes another step closer. He's officially in your space. "You're the blue milk to my bantha, the spice in my life."

You can't contain yourself anymore and spit at that last pick-up line. Fives' face is immediately covered with concern.

You look up at him and bite your lip to keep from laughing. "Who taught you those lines?"

Fives confidently stands up straight. "The holonet... and the General."

You playfully roll your eyes and turn to go back to your counter. You still have to dish up more portions for tonight.

Fives tails behind you. "You must not have heard me. I just said you were hot and--"

"--Thank you, Fives, but I'm not interested." You lie, crossing around behind the table to grab a spoon.

Fives stands across the countertop and leans against the counter. He gives a cheeky smile. "You're very beautiful."

"Stop joking, Fives. If you want more sweets today, I'm not letting you take any."

"That's not the kind of sweet I want, darling."

You stare at him with wide eyes for just a moment before masking your face in a cold stare. Fives chuckles to himself and leans farther over the counter. "When does your shift end?"

"Not your business." You stare at the food you're preparing. Avoiding eye contact is the best thing. He better not be able to read you.

"I'd like to know." Fives adjusts his posture over his elbow.

You look him in the eyes, hoping you look frustrated. "I get off at eight."

Fives stands up happily. "I'll be back at eight and then we can sneak some sweets out of here and eat them somewhere else."

"No. I can't let you sneak any more food out of here." You continue spooning the dinner onto the dish. Fives reaches for the food and dips his finger in it. He brings his finger slowly to his mouth without looking away from you.

Fives drops his finger and opens his mouth, "Either way, I'm coming to get you at eight." Fives reaches his finger back near the food. You catch his hand firmly. "Don't do that."

Fives stares down at you with a smug smile. You stare back at him with a frown.

The staring contest feels like an eternity. Fives slowly leans over the counter. Your hand is still griping his. You stare him down until his face is an inch away from yours.

"I know you like me, Cyare." Fives smoothly twists his hand from your grip and wraps his hand around yours. "Your sour attitude gives it away."

You stare at him dumbfounded. "I'm not going out with someone I just met."

Fives breaks into a wide smile. "But if you say yes, we'll get to know each other better."

You stare back. Sure, he's cute. He's definitely funny. And he came back to visit you after you had just met a few hours ago? Persistent.

Fives squeezes your hand and stares longingly into your eyes. He whispers, "Please, Cyare."

You find your head involuntarily leaning in closer to his. You catch yourself before your foreheads touch and spring back, smiling. "Why not? Yes."

Fives stands back and smiles confidently. He squeezes your hand. "I'll see you at eight." He then runs out of the kitchen as you call out to him, "Looking forward to it!"

Out in the hallway, Echo and Jesse stand there waiting for him. Fives runs up to them.

"So, did you ask her?" Echo asks Fives.

Fives gives Echo a wide grin and nods, "Yeah." Jesse claps him on the back and holds out a hand to Echo, "You owe me five credits."

Fives jumps back in shock. "What! You bet on that?" Jesse laughs as Echo explains, "I thought she'd turn you down. I bet Jesse that she'd say yes after you tried three times to ask her out."

"Well, it did take nearly three times for her to finally say yes." Fives grins, "But she said yes!"

Echo holds out his hand to Jesse as Jesse frowns and swings an arm around Fives. Jesse adds, "Let's call off the bet. We don't really know what happened in there."

Echo replies, "Fine. I bet she breaks up with Fives in less than a standard month."

"I'll take that bet." Jesse says.

Fives, Echo, and Jesse walk down the hall. Fives has a wide grin on his face as he thinks about his upcoming date with you.
