Comfort Kisses 2 (Sabo x Reader)

You wandered the streets of the village looking for Luffy. You hadn't seen him all day and you started to get worried again.

"Luffyyyyy! Where are youuuu?" You called out but no response. "Where is he?"

The boisterous laughter of drunken men caught your attention, as well as the familiar voice of your little rubber hero. Without a second thought, you ran into the tavern and blinked.

There was Luffy with a red haired man at the bar counter. The seven year old was yelling out profanities against the men as they continued to laugh at his flustered state.

"What kind of pirate drinks orange juice?!" The red haired man laughed, causing Luffy's face to turn into a deeper shade of crimson.

"THAT WAS A CHEAP SHOT, SHANKS!" Luffy retorted, scowling at him before turning his head to face you. "Oh! ____, what are you doing here?"

You stiffened when everyone's eyes looked to you. Your ears were sensitive to sound and you instantly became wary of your surroundings. A few chuckles from some of the groups and wide grins from the others, as well as the man with brilliant red hair named Shanks beamed at you.

"Hey, Luffy, I didn't know you already had a girlfriend!" Shanks playfully ruffled Luffy's hair with a teasing grin on his face.

You noted the scars across his eye, a mark that seemed familiar to you for some reason. After a momentary pause of thought, you blinked and widened your eyes at the realization.

"The Red Hair Pirates." You gasped, falling a step backwards as the words left your lips.

Shanks turned in his seat to face you fully, his arms crossed  on his chest and the same smile still on his tanned face. For a man who is one of the most well known and feared across the seas, he sure didn't look the part.

"Luffy, come on. We need to eat dinner." You whisper loudly and slowly walked towards him, tugging on his arm to get him down from the bar stool.

"Oh, yeah! Okay!" Luffy cheered and hopped down next to you. He turned to Shanks and grinned as wide as his rubbery cheeks could pull and pulled you away. "Bye Shanks! See you tomorrow!"

You were surprised to hear a chorus of farewells from the entire crew, especially from their captain, followed by a joyous set of drunken laughter filling the air as soon as you both left the tavern.

On the way home, you kept staring at Luffy as you walked through the forest. As though as if he felt your gaze, he glanced over his shoulder and arched a brow at you. "What is it, ____?"

You frowned, looking at him puzzled. "I didn't know you were friends with Red Haired Shanks, Luffy." You replied curiously.

Luffy responded with a grin. "Yeah, I do! And one day I'm gonna be a greater pirate than HE is!"

You giggled as he pumped his fists in the air after his bold declaration. Shaking your head, you smiled. "I believe you will."

By the time you reached Dadan's house, Ace and Sabo were already at the door waiting for you two. Ace looked mildly annoyed as he scoffed at you and Luffy. "Told you they'd be fine."

You tilted your head confusedly while Sabo looked genuinely worried as he quickly walked over to you. "____, where have you been?" He asks as he rested his hands on your shoulders and  looked you over.

"I was searching for Luffy. I hadn't seen him all day so I got worried." You honestly replied to him as he sighed in relief.

"Next time you should tell Sabo where you're going. He wouldn't shut up about finding you and it was getting on my nerves." Ace frowned at the blonde as he said this. "Even though I kept telling him that you'd be fine."

You lightly blushed. Peering at Sabo's face, his cheeks looks slightly pink as well.

"Shut up, Ace..." He huffed, pulling the rim of his hat down to cover his eyes.

You smiled at him. Sabo had always been kind to you, even now he was worried sick about your well-being. "Sabo?" You quietly said.

The top hatted blonde peeked from under his hat at you, looking very embarrassed. "What?"

Although you would have loved to tease him as well, you thought it would be best for another time.

So, for now, you just smiled. "Thank you for worrying about me."
