Late last night in the city that never sleeps, wild child Stella Cobain was seen stepping out of A Strokes gig in the lower east side. This comes shortly after rumors that the grunge heiress could be possibly mingling with frontman, Julian Casablancas. The up and coming garage rock band played a 10 song set with songs from their initial EP and some unreleased tracks from their upcoming album. Waiting in the wings was Stella herself, surrounded by some other friends. Laughing and chatting it up. Seemingly lovestruck as she watched her possible new beau rock and roll on stage. According to our inside sources, the two have known each other for a year now. "Julian has begun to see Stella in a new light now that she's older and bolder." said the source, "Stella has been interested and can't deny her attraction to the singer. She's never been shy about her crushes." It is still up to debate whether anything serious will come out of this.
Stella has made headlines in the past year as she's become an essential part of the New York social scene. Often found hanging around with actress Chloë Sevigny or modelling in Marc Jacob's atelier. When the sun goes down, she can be found strolling around with different rockstars. Just a month ago she was seen laughing it up backstage with The Libertines' Pete Doherty, not too long before that she had been spotted with Blur's Damon Albarn while they were on an American tour. It seems this time she's ditched the union Jack for an everyday Jack. Or in this case, Julian. She's also been seen stepping in and out of Electric Lady Studios in Chelsea where The Strokes are rumored to be recording their debut album.
Julian is said to be just as adamant about Cobain, reportedly asking her to come on tour with them this summer. If she accepted this offer, we won't exactly know until next June when the band kicks off their promotional tour. We would've reached out for comment but the band isn't exactly set with media training. Loudmouth Casablancas isn't known for his low key demeanor, if there IS something going on between these two it should show soon. Until then, TMZ will keep tabs on this possible new romance. And they said rock n roll was dead!
