————————-—CHARLIE————————
I walked outside, breathing in the early morning air and heard the door slam behind me. As much as I dread high school, I'm a great student. Not that it matters.

The sun is barely rising because I left earlier than usual. I can still smell the fresh rain from last night. My Highschool isn't to far from my house so I walk to and from school everyday. Walking to school is one of the only things I look forward to in the mornings. I feel goosebumps starting to form on my arms, and I'm starting to regret not bringing a coat.

I can't remember anything that happened during my walk because I was mostly invested in my thoughts. My older brother, my parents, school, Kai. Kai is my best friend and everyone adores him, even our teachers because of his amazing grades, his looks, and the best on our track team. Kai bursts out the door in a rush as he finishes zipping up his backpack. His shoes are untied and he struggles to put on his jacket. We make eye contact and he waves at me. "Are you ok?" I asked. His mouth formed an awkward smile and hesitates to answer. "I didn't get much sleep last night." I ignore the obvious exhaustion on his face and I finish my walk to school, with Kai by my side.
