Class felt longer than usual. My backpack will burst open if I have to hold anymore books. I brushed past the crowd of students and rushed to find a table. There was an empty one in the far corner so I quickly ran over to save a spot for Charlie.
I sat down and used my backpack to save her a seat. I looked around the Cafeteria until I saw her. She looked really stressed and her face was blood red. She walked over and didn't say anything. "Hi." I said. She ignored me and only took out a book to read.
I could tell she wasn't reading it. Only staring at the pages and thinking about something else. Maybe she was trying to ignore me and pretend I wasn't there. I was stuck. I didn't know what to do. "Hey, Charlie. Is everything ok?" I said. She looked at me with hatred in her eyes. "I'm fine." She glared at me and looked back at her book.
I sat there for a moment, trying to figure out what to do next. Is she mad at me? "I can tell something is bothering you." I swallowed. "Did I do something wrong?" Charlie gave me an irritated look. "Not everything is about you, Kai." She started to raise her voice and she slammed her book down on the table.
Before I could calm her down, she kept going. "Just because we are best friends doesn't mean you have to know everything, just so you can make it about you! Even though attention is all you get! You have gotten enough! Just leave me alone!" She yelled. Charlie grabbed her backpack and looked at me with anger. As she started to walk away I could hear her whisper, "For once." Those words were still ringing in my ears as I watched my best friend storm off and I was left here alone.
I'm only posting the first 5 parts because I need to work on the characters looks and descriptions! I will probably post twice a week after I've posted all I have had saved.
