———————————IVY——————————
I began my day by being startled by my alarm, even though I still wanted to sleep. I had stayed up late thinking about debate. Charlie has always beaten me.

After my sister and her brother broke up, there has been tension between us. Maybe she keeps beating me because she wants to get back at me and my sister. She thinks just because she's so obsessed with winning that she is better than me. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

I got out of bed then got ready for school making sure to carefully place my debate paper in my binder. "Ivy, get down here right now or I won't drive you to school!" My older sister, Iris, was yelling at me, as usual. When I got in her car I was staring out the window thinking of how I'll start my presentation for fourth period.

My sister interrupted my thoughts and asked, "What are you thinking so hard about?" Before I could give her an answer, we pulled into the parking lot. I didn't notice but we already arrived at my school. "For the past few weeks you've been day dreaming. This rivalry better not get in the way of school, Ivy." Iris stated. "It won't." I grasped my backpack and slid it over my shoulder. "School is about to start, bye!" I quickly got out of that car so I wouldn't have to answer any more of her questions.

If she knew I was trying to beat Charlie, she wouldn't be happy. She told me to stay far away from anyone related to her ex. I don't really know what happened but Iris hates Charlie's older brother. I walked into the school, meeting up with my friends Melody, Ember, and Cerise.

Melody and Ember are gushing over this guy named Kai. I never really liked him. I don't understand why everyone admires him, including my own friends. Plus, he is Charlie's best friend. "Are you staring at Charlie again?" Cerise whispered into my ear while laughing. "You can't blame me! You will understand when she beats you in debate." "Mhm. I'm sure you'll do amazing. I don't know why you hate her so much!" Cerise kept on laughing. She knows me too well, which is why she's my best friend. The bell rang and it was time for Math. "I'll see you in second period for the debates!" Cerise had shouted as I was getting pushed by the crowd of students.
