ALANA's POV

"Namiss ka raw ni mama," Cole says as I walk into the library, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Aww, sabihin mo namiss ko rin siya." I sit down across from her, setting my things on the table. "Bisitahin kaya natin sila next time?"

"Hmm pwede," Cole narrows her eyebrows at me, sitting across me. "Lana, seryosohin mo nga ako, may gusto ka ba kay Miks?" Her tone suddenly turns conspiratorial.

I blink. "Uh... short answer: hindi. Long answer: hindi rin," I reply, narrowing my eyes. "At parang naghuhukay ako ng sarili kong libingan... at tsaka si Miks, may gusto kay Judy."

"Hmm..." She gives me a suspicious look, resting her chin on her hand. "Nagsisinungaling ka ba sakin?"

"Mukha ba akong nagsisinungaling?" I huff, standing up. "Hanapin ko lang mga libro ko before mo pa ako tanungin ng mga weird questions."

"Fine, nap muna ako kasi wala pa si uyab," Cole sighs, already leaning back in her chair, looking ready to nap.

I make my way toward the bookshelves, hoping to shake off the oddness of Cole's question. Totoo naman, diba? Miks likes Judy, so there's no way... I mean, sure, Mikaela's boyfriend material. But like I said, I'm not stupid enough to fall for someone who's into someone else.

"May gusto friend mo kay Judy?" A voice cuts through my thoughts.

I turn to my left and see a girl browsing through books, looking somewhat familiar. "Huh?"

"Narinig ko kayo kanina," she says casually, still not looking at me. "Nicole Alcantara, right?"

"Uh, hindi si Nicole but yung kaibigan namin, oo... bakit mo natanong?" I ask warily.

She finally glances my way, a small smile forming on her lips. "Wala lang, sasabihin ko lang-good luck sa friend mo."

Weird. "Why?"

"Used to date her, si Judy," she shrugs, turning back to her book selection.

I blink in disbelief. "Seriously? Judy, as in... the Judy we know?"

"Oo, pero kapag inaalala ko, parang babangungutin ako," she says with a chuckle.

I stare. "Sure ka bang same tayo ng Judy na pinag-uusapan natin?"

The girl raises an eyebrow, tilting her head. "Baka mabait siya ngayon, but back then? Different story." She gives me one last smile before walking away, leaving me standing there in confusion.

"Sabihin mo nalang sa friend mo, good luck," she calls over her shoulder as she leaves.

Okay, that girl from the library was super weird, I think as I ride the elevator up to my dorm. There's no way we're talking about the same Judy... right?

I'm about to unlock my door when I remember something important-yung payong ko! Mikaela borrowed it, and I haven't seen her all day. The rain was heavy yesterday, what if nagkasakit yun? I hesitate in front of her door, tempted to knock but unsure if she wants to be bothered.
