ALANA's POV

As I step out of the elevator and walk down the hallway, I try to shake off the frustration. At least walang assignment diba—win-win situation, diba?

"Hi, neighbor!" a familiar voice calls out. I look up to see Mikaela, casually leaning against my door with that smirk of hers. Well, this is a first.

"Ano meron? Parang good mood ka today ah," I ask, already pulling out my keys to unlock the door.

"Guess what?" she teases, eyes gleaming.

"Inaantok ka?" I joke, raising an eyebrow.

She flicks my forehead, and I wince. "Seryoso ako dito oh, hays."

"Aray, lagi ka kasi inaantok eh," I laugh, rubbing my forehead. "Okay, okay. Ano ba meron?"

"I..." she starts, flashing that grin of hers, "got her number."

My eyebrows shoot up. "Real ba? Congrats!" Mikaela getting someone's number is hardly a shocker.

"Free ka ba today?" she asks, following me into the dorm once I finally get the door open.

"Why? Kakain ba tayo sa labas as my reward for helping you?" I ask, half-joking but totally hoping for it. Nagugutom na ako.

"Yup, you deserve it." She drops onto the sofa like she owns the place, making herself comfortable.

"Let's go!" I throw my backpack to the side and yank her up from the couch.

"Wait—ngayon?" she stammers.

"Duh, kakatapos ko lang mag-exam. I'm starving," I say, dragging her out the door.

"Sabi mo gusto mo kumain," Mikaela grumbles, crossing her arms, clearly annoyed. "Bakit tayo nasa grocery store?"

"Gusto ko kainin yung lulutuin mo," I reply, shoving a cart toward her. "Here, bili ka ingredients para sa ramen."

"But tinatamad ako, pwede naman tayo kumain sa Ramenagi," she argues.

"Wala namang effort yun," I counter. "Grabe ako mag-advice sayo para kay Judy. The least you can do is make me some noodles."

Mikaela rolls her eyes. "Anong effort? Hindi pa ba enough yung gagastos na nga ako sayo?"

I shake my head, pretending to be offended. "Nope. Dali na, Ako magtutulak nung cart para sayo,"

"Ugh," she groans, surrendering. "Fine, let's go."

As she trudges ahead, I eagerly follow behind with the cart, a little too excited for someone who's just grocery shopping.

"Parang ang sarap nito, crispy fried onions." I say, examining a jar on the shelf. "Do we need it?"

"Alana Salvador, sinong maglalagay ng fried onions sa Ramen?" Mikaela sighs dramatically.
