That night, Aria tossed and turned in her bed, her mind still swirling with the kiss and everything that had led up to it. But then, without warning, she was plunged into a vivid, terrifying vision.
She wasn't herself anymore. She was something else—something huge and slithering, moving silently through a dark corridor. Ahead of her, she could see a man, alone and unaware. In a split second, she lunged, sinking sharp fangs into his body. His scream echoed through the darkness, but it didn't matter. All she felt was cold satisfaction.
Aria jolted awake, her heart racing. She felt sick to her stomach, the image of the man's agonized face seared into her mind. She clutched her chest, her breathing labored, and before she could make sense of what had happened, Onyx was beside her, shaking her shoulders.
"Aria! Aria, wake up!"
Aria gasped, pushing her damp hair out of her face. Her whole body was trembling, and she suddenly lurched forward, retching onto the floor beside her bed. Onyx jumped back in shock, her face pale with concern.
"I'm getting help," Onyx said in a panicked whisper before she rushed out of the dormitory.
Aria wiped her mouth, feeling the cold sweat on her skin. She tried to steady her breathing, but the terror of the dream—or vision—still clung to her. What had she just seen? And why did it feel so real?
A few minutes later, Onyx returned with Professor Snape in tow. He looked grim as he approached Aria's bed, his dark eyes assessing her with an unusual intensity.
"Miss Hilton," he said quietly. "Miss De Loughrey has informed me of your... distress. Explain."
Aria, still shaking, recounted the dream—or rather, the nightmare. She told him about the snake, the man, and the horrifying attack. As she spoke, she noticed Snape's expression harden. When she finished, he stood up straight.
"Come with me," Snape said. "We're going to see Professor Dumbledore."
Aria was led to Dumbledore's office by Snape, Onyx trailing behind. When they arrived, they found Harry already there, along with Professor McGonagall. Harry looked pale, his hands clenched at his sides. The moment Aria stepped into the room, their eyes met, and she knew instantly—he had seen it too. They had shared the same vision.
Dumbledore stood behind his desk, his face unusually serious. He motioned for Aria to sit, and she did so, her heart still pounding in her chest.
"Miss Black," Dumbledore began, his voice calm but grave, "Harry has just informed me of a vision he had. It seems you experienced something similar."
