Travis' pov

" Trav? Trav wake up " I felt an elbow in my rib, shaking me gently, making me flutter my eyes open.

" what's the matter baby? " I blink, rubbing my eyes with the back of my hands.

" Clara has gone into labour, she's at the hospital right now " Taylor says frantically, and I gasp.

" what? Already? Okay, let's get going then " I jump out of bed, shuffling into the closet to pull on some sweat pants, throwing a shirt on whilst I was at it too.

" do we have everything? " she rummages through the hospital bag that we had prepared for the baby. " the car seat is in the car, right? "

" yes Tay, we have everything baby. Come on, let's go " I carry the bag out to the car, throwing it into the backseat, both of us getting situated into the car before we drive.

When we arrived at the hospital, Taylor went and asked whereabouts Clara was situated. I thought it was really sweet that she has asked Taylor to be in the room with her, I think it will make Taylor feel even more connected to the experience. As far as I was aware, Clara wanted Taylor to the be first person to hold the baby, she didn't want to have the baby placed straight onto her chest or anything, she didn't want to feel a connection that she might not be able to let go of and we understood that.

" I'll keep you updated, okay babe? I'm sorry you have to stay back " Taylor hugged me, and I shook my head. I completely got why Clara wouldn't want me in the room and that was fine, I'm just so glad Taylor got to experience it.

" I love you baby. This is it, I'll be okay back here " we shared a kiss, hopefully our last before we became a family of 3.

I watched Taylor walk away, situating myself in a small private waiting room. We made sure Clara had a private room in the hospital, just for security reasons, so this waiting room was only for people who were for Clara, which unfortunately was just me. We hadn't even told our families that we were about to adopt a newborn, it had all happened so quick, so we just decided we wanted to surprise them when she was here.

I felt like I was waiting for days, but realistically, I think it was 5 hours max. Taylor came back and fourth a few times, keeping me updated. It was around 11am in the morning, when taylor came out, sobbing with happiness, telling me that our baby girl was here. I felt myself tearing up a bit, overcome with joy. This was all we had ever wanted.

Taylor's pov

I supported and stayed with Clara all through the process, I had taken quite a maternal instinct over her, she was only 19, still a kid really and she also needed protecting. Plus, she was giving me my biggest hope ever, making all my dreams come true, the least I could do was be there for her. She decided to get an epidural, which was fair enough, it look like the pain was horrible, and she found it a lot easier to handle once she had had it. It actually seemed to move pretty quickly and 5 hours after we had gotten the call, she began to push. It took a little under half an hour, before we heard a piercing cry. I gasped, she was actually here?

" pass her to Taylor " Clara said breathlessly, as soon as she felt the baby come out. I looked at her, asking if she was sure, and she nodded. " she's yours Taylor, meet your daughter " she said softly.
