Taylor's pov

Today we were taking Elise home from the hospital, after about 48 hours since she was born. Travis and I had taken turns staying with her, as only one of us was allowed to stay the night and I'd discovered a profound disliking of being separated from her, I just wanted her close to me all the time. For the most part, she was a pretty content baby, only really crying if she was hungry or if we had to change her – I think it's safe to say she hated the cold. I'd stayed with Elise last night, and Travis was on his way over this morning as the doctor had just completed her final check up on the baby, deeming her healthy and ready to leave.

" how are my favourite girls? " Travis announces as he enters the hospital room, car seat under his arm.

" we're good, right Lisey? Just having some brunch and then we should probably get her dressed " I joked, Elise sucking away at a bottle, milk dribbling down her chin.

" please I'm so excited to put her in this " Travis claims, holding up the outfit I had laid out for Elise, her coming home outfit if you will.

" well daddy, you can have the honours of burping and getting her dressed then " I giggle, handing Elise over to Travis, who cups the baby in his hands, the size difference making me laugh as she rests on his shoulder, him delicately patting her back. " someone's spit up on you " a chuckle erupts my lips, looking at the spit up streaming down the back of Travis's shirt, i kept telling him to use a burp cloth.

" oh baby girl. On daddy huh? It's a good job you're damn cute " he lifts her up to his face, gently kissing her nose as she does an adorable newborn scrunch.

I hand Travis a burp cloth, helping him to wipe the stain off his clothes. Thankfully his shirt was black, so once the white residue was cleaned away, the wet patch was barely visible. I'm glad Travis was getting her dressed, it upset me, I hated hearing her cry. I watched as he expertly guided her little, wriggling limbs into the sleep suit, careful not to hurt her. Her squeals echoed the room, but were soon softened when he lifted her to his chest, bouncing her gently, her tiny body clutched in her clothes. That right there was the sight I'd longed for forever.

" shall we see if she likes a paci? " I question, digging through the diaper bag to find the fresh set of sterilised pacifiers. I placed the paci just on her lips, seeing if she would accept it into her mouth. Her tongue pushed it away gently a few times, but she soon got the hang of what it was for, suckling softly.

" ready to go home girly? " Travis cooed, gently placing her in her car seat, looping her arms through the straps with ease and tightening them just enough so we knew she was secure. I bent down, placing a kiss to her forehead, draping a thin blanket over her legs so they didn't get cold.
" ready for this baby girl? " Travis said, grinning at me.

" as ready as I'll ever be " I smiled, kissing his cheek. He lifted the car seat off the bed where it was placed, carrying Elise out of the hospital. I snapped a quick pic of him from behind, the hot dad walk out theory was very real.

Travis clicked Elise's car seat into its base, as I climbed in beside her, wanting to watch over her carefully. I made Travis drive slowly the whole way and even if it meant it turned a 35 minute journey into a 50 minute journey, I didn't care. When we finally arrived back at my LA home, Travis carried the car seat and the bags in, not letting me lift a finger yet I wasn't even the one who gave birth but it was adorable that he wanted to do everything for us.
