The limousine glides smoothly through the city streets, and you still can’t believe this is real. Sitting next to Marc, dressed up for your first real date, it feels like you’ve stepped into some sort of dream.

You glance over at him. He’s calm and composed, looking out the window, but when he catches you staring, he flashes that familiar, gentle smile.

You look really nice tonight,” he says, his voice warm and sincere.

A blush creeps up your neck.

Thanks. You too.

The conversation flows easily, and you soon find yourself relaxing, forgetting the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside you.

You try not to think about your stepsisters back home, probably furious after watching you leave with Marc in that sleek limousine.

You can already imagine the gossip they’ll be spreading at school come Monday. But tonight, you don’t care. It’s just you and Marc.

After a while, the car pulls up at a beautiful, cozy restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner of the city. The soft glow of lights and the gentle hum of chatter create the perfect atmosphere.

As Marc leads you inside, you feel a sense of awe — this is the kind of place you’ve only ever seen in movies.

Is this okay?” Marc asks, looking a little nervous for the first time.

You nod, your heart fluttering. “It’s perfect.

Dinner passes in a blur of laughter and easy conversation. Marc tells you stories about his life before coming to your school, and you realize just how down-to-earth he really is.

Despite his wealth, he doesn’t flaunt it. He’s kind, thoughtful, and genuinely interested in everything you have to say. You feel seen in a way you never have before.

By the time dessert is served, you’re so wrapped up in the moment that you almost forget about everything else. But as the night winds down and the limousine takes you back home, the weight of reality starts to creep back in.

You’re not sure what to expect when you return — what your stepsisters will say, what Marc will think after tonight. But as the car pulls up in front of your house, Marc turns to you with a soft, reassuring look.

I had a really great time tonight,” he says quietly, his eyes locking onto yours.

Me too,” you reply, your voice barely above a whisper.

For a moment, the world seems to stop as Marc leans in slightly, his face just inches from yours. You can feel your heart pounding in your chest, and for a split second, you think he’s going to kiss you.

But then, he pulls back, giving you a shy smile.

I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?

You nod, still a little dazed.

Yeah. Tomorrow.
