Jisung sat at Minho's desk in the nurse's office, pretending to read through an old magazine he'd found lying around. He could feel Minho moving around behind him, typing something on the computer or maybe filling out paperwork. It was just a regular afternoon, the kind where they would usually sit and chat, but today felt different. Or maybe it had been feeling different for a while, and Jisung had only just begun to notice.
Every time Minho moved even slightly closer, Jisung's breath hitched in his throat. It didn't help that the room was small, and it seemed like there was no place to escape the soft scent of Minho's cologne. That familiar warmth that always lingered around him.
Jisung's hand tightened around the edges of the magazine, though his eyes weren't reading the words on the page. He was too focused on the sound of Minho's footsteps as they circled the desk. Suddenly, Minho leaned over Jisung's shoulder to grab a folder from the drawer right beside him.
"Sorry, didn't mean to crowd you," Minho said, his voice casual, but Jisung swore he felt the tiniest hint of amusement.
"It's fine," Jisung managed to squeak, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks. He hoped Minho couldn't see his face from that angle. Why was he suddenly so aware of every little movement? He used to be fine with this, but now... now it felt like every time Minho was even remotely close, his brain short-circuited.
Minho stood up straight but didn't step back. Instead, he lingered, hovering over Jisung in a way that was just on the edge of too close. Jisung could feel his heartbeat quicken, and he cursed himself for reacting this way. He needed to calm down, but his body wasn't listening.
"Hey, Jisung," Minho's voice was smooth, almost playful. Jisung dared a glance up at him, only to be met with those deep, inquisitive eyes. "You're looking a bit red. Feeling okay?"
Jisung immediately averted his gaze, his ears burning. "I'm—uh—I'm fine," he stammered, pushing the magazine away as though it had somehow betrayed him.
Minho leaned down even closer, resting his hand on the back of the chair. "You sure about that?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper now, almost teasing.
Jisung's entire body tensed. He could feel the warmth of Minho's breath against his ear, and it was driving him insane. What was Minho doing? Why was he suddenly so close? Did he notice how Jisung was acting? His heart pounded in his chest, loud enough that he was sure Minho could hear it.
"I—uh..." Jisung swallowed hard, his words failing him. He couldn't think straight with Minho this close. The room felt smaller, the air thicker, and his thoughts more jumbled than ever. Why was Minho doing this? Was he testing him? Or worse—did he know?
Minho finally pulled away with a satisfied grin, but there was a glint in his eye. He knew. "Well, if you say so," he said, walking back to his desk as if nothing had happened.
Jisung let out a shaky breath, his fingers gripping the armrests of his chair. His mind raced with confusion. Minho had never acted like this before, and Jisung had never been this affected by him. But now...now everything felt different. Minho's teasing felt like it had a different weight to it, and Jisung couldn't help but wonder if Minho knew exactly what he was doing.
The rest of the afternoon passed in a blur, with Minho continuing to drop little teasing comments and getting close to Jisung at every opportunity. It wasn't until Jisung finally left the nurse's office, the door closing behind him, that he let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.
Leaning against the wall outside, Jisung pressed a hand to his chest. His heart was still racing, and his cheeks were still burning. Minho's teasing had always been lighthearted, but this...this felt different. And it was driving Jisung crazy.
Jisung stopped in the middle of the hallway, pressing a hand to his forehead. This was a mess. He was fucking in love with Minho.
