The idea struck Jisung out of nowhere—he wanted to mess with Minho just a little. Nothing too serious, but enough to get a reaction. So, as he waited for Minho to arrive, he practiced looking as miserable as possible: slumping his shoulders, drooping his eyes, and sighing every few seconds.

It didn't take long. Exactly five minutes later, Minho's car rolled up to the curb, the familiar sleek black exterior glinting in the late afternoon sun.

Minho stepped out with his usual calm, collected smile, and Jisung almost cracked right there. But he held firm, dragging his feet dramatically toward the car.

Minho opened the passenger door for him, his smile softening as he watched Jisung shuffle inside. "Hey, Sungie. You okay?"

Jisung just gave a small, pitiful nod, looking out the window with a long, exaggerated sigh.

Minho narrowed his eyes but didn't say anything as he got into the driver's seat and started the engine. He threw a glance at Jisung every now and then, clearly concerned. But Jisung stayed in character—pouting, crossing his arms, and slouching deeper into the seat like his whole world had come crashing down.

The car ride back was quiet, and Minho occasionally guided Jisung's "sulking" form, holding his hand or patting his knee whenever they stopped at a light. Once they arrived home, Minho parked the car, took Jisung by the hand, and led him inside like he was made of glass.

As soon as the door clicked shut behind them, Minho turned on his heel and faced Jisung with the most intense glare. It was the kind of look that sent shivers down Jisung's spine.

"What's wrong?" Minho asked, his voice low but commanding.

Jisung gulped. Okay, maybe this was a little too much...

He fidgeted under Minho's gaze and mumbled, "I-It's...it's the results."

Minho's expression didn't budge. "What about them?"

Jisung's lips twitched, and then the façade shattered. His face broke into the biggest grin as he grabbed Minho's shoulders with both hands. "Well...remember how I said I fucked up that one question?" With each word, he shook Minho playfully by the shoulders, his excitement bubbling over. He then paused the shaking, giving Minho time to think.

Minho raised an eyebrow before replying. "Yea?"

"Well..." Jisung paused, building suspense before finally jumping and yelling out—

"I GOT A NINETY-EIGHT!"

Minho blinked, caught between disbelief and amusement, and then the corners of his mouth lifted into the warmest, proudest smile. Before Jisung could react, Minho slid his arms around his waist, yanking him forward into a hug so tight it knocked the breath out of him.

The world slowed down as they stood there, locked in each other's embrace. Minho's chin rested on top of Jisung's head, and Jisung melted into him, wrapping his arms around Minho's neck and holding him just as tightly.

"You did it," Minho whispered into Jisung's hair. "I'm so proud of you."

Jisung squeezed his eyes shut, pressing closer to Minho. "Thank you, Minho."

They stayed like that for what felt like forever—no words, no noise, just the quiet hum of their breathing and the steady beat of Minho's heart.

Finally, Minho pulled back slightly, just enough to look Jisung in the eyes. His gaze was soft, warm, and full of something unspoken.

"You're incredible, you know that?" Minho murmured, tucking a stray piece of hair behind Jisung's ear.

Jisung smiled, his cheeks flushing under Minho's praise. "I had a good support system."

Minho grinned, pressing his forehead against Jisung's. "Damn right you did."

"Now," Jisung whispered, a mischievous glint in his eye, "How are you gonna reward me for being such a smartass?"

Minho chuckled, the sound low and affectionate. "First, we're gonna sit down, and you're gonna tell me all about how you crushed that exam."

"And after that?" Jisung wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

Minho gave him a playful smirk, his eyes glinting with fondness. "After that, we'll see."

Jisung laughed, leaning in for another hug, and Minho happily obliged—because right now, there was nowhere else in the world he'd rather be.

He was finally free.
