Jisung sat on the edge of his bed, phone in hand, staring at the screen with Felix, Seungmin, and Jeongin's names highlighted. His thumb hovered over the "call" button. Enough was enough. Ghosting them wasn't solving anything. Sure, they had left him alone when he needed them most, but he still missed them. He couldn't keep avoiding the people who once meant everything to him.
With a deep breath, he pressed the button. The ringing filled the silence of his room, and his heart pounded faster with each passing second. When the call finally connected, Felix's familiar voice broke through. God, this better work.
"Jisung?"
"Hi, erm..." Jisung's voice wavered. "Can you guys come over? I...we need to talk."
There was a pause before Seungmin replied, "Alright, we'll come. Be there soon."
Jisung sighed in relief. Within half an hour, they were at his doorstep, faces hesitant but hopeful. When they sat down in the living room, the atmosphere was thick with unspoken words. But Jisung didn't waste any time.
"I'm sorry," he began, his voice barely a whisper. "I know I've been distant, and I know things have been...weird between us. But I've missed you all. More than I could ever say. And I just want us to be...us again."
Felix, Seungmin, and Jeongin exchanged glances before grinning widely. Felix was the first to move, wrapping his arms around Jisung. Seungmin and Jeongin followed quickly, joining the hug, though Jisung couldn't lift his arms to hug them back. His body was still too weak, but his heart swelled with warmth.
"You don't need to apologize, hyung," Jeongin said. "We're just happy you're okay. And we're here now. We're not going anywhere."
Just as Jisung was about to thank them, Seungmin's voice cut through with a playful tone. "So...since we're here in Minho hyung's house, I gotta ask, Jisung...do you uh...like him or something?"
The room went silent. Jisung's face turned bright red, and he paused, unable to respond. His silence, however, was enough of an answer for his friends.
"Oh my god, he totally does!" Felix gasped dramatically.
"Jisung and Minho hyung, huh? I didn't see that coming," Jeongin teased with a grin.
Jisung buried his face in his hands, trying to hide his embarrassment. "I-I don't...you guys..."
But his stammering only made them laugh harder. "Don't worry, Jisung," Seungmin chuckled. "We're just teasing. But honestly, we wouldn't be surprised."
"I'm good at this stuff, but you SO pulled him without my help!" Felix exclaimed, happy for his best friend, "Damn, Jisung, what's gotten into you?" He teased, shoving Jisung lightly.
"You guys are such menaces." Jisung admitted, causing everyone to end up laughing out loud. This was where it was at.
Jisung wished the ground would swallow him whole, but despite the teasing, he couldn't help but smile. It was nice to have them back, even if they wouldn't let him live this down anytime soon.
