Yulia sat comfortably on Leonardo's lap, wrapped in a soft new nightgown Alessandro had brought back from Italy, a gift from him that made her feel especially cherished. Alessandro had mentioned Eline also sent gifts, and Yulia couldn't help but feel a bit spoiled by their thoughtfulness. She smiled as she dangled her legs from Leonardo's lap, nibbling on the chocolate Alessandro had given her. She had all three of her men around her, and in that moment, she was truly happy.
The conversation between the men flowed in rapid Italian, and while Yulia could pick up a few words here and there, they spoke too quickly for her to follow everything. She didn't mind, though—she was content just being close to them.
"She's been bratty," Matteo teased, breaking into her peaceful thoughts. Yulia's eyes narrowed at him, a playful challenge in her gaze.
Matteo, ever mischievous, narrowed his eyes right back at her. She couldn't resist rolling hers in response, and his smirk widened. "See? Brat!" he accused, his tone light but full of teasing.
Yulia stuck her tongue out at him in defiance. "It takes one to know one!" she shot back, her voice laced with playful sass. Matteo gasped dramatically, but it quickly morphed into a devious laugh that sent shivers down her spine.
Before she could process what was happening, Matteo reached for her, clearly ready to follow through with some kind of playful retaliation. In a flash, Yulia jumped from Leonardo's lap and darted behind the couch, laughing breathlessly as she put some distance between herself and Matteo.
"No! No funny business, until we talk!" she warned, her heart pounding with excitement, though she couldn't wipe the grin from her face.
Matteo's eyes gleamed with amusement, but he held back, respecting her request for now. But she knew this wasn't over, not with that wicked smile still on his face.
"What do you want to talk about, baby?" Leonardo asked, his thick accent rolling through the words, sending a shiver down Yulia's spine. The way he said baby always affected her, his voice smooth and commanding. She made her way back to him and, without hesitation, sat on his lap once more. His arms wrapped around her instinctively, holding her close.
Leonardo had noticed this change in her, the way she had started showing a more confident side. He liked it. While he enjoyed how shy and vulnerable she could be, there was something utterly captivating about her newfound confidence—he absolutely adored it.
Yulia hesitated for a moment, her shoulders sagging a little as she prepared herself for what she needed to say. "I don't know what we are," she finally admitted, the words coming out in a soft, almost defeated tone. Sitting on his lap, surrounded by the three men who had such a powerful hold on her heart, it felt like the truth was too heavy to keep inside any longer. She wasn't sure how to phrase it, but she needed to know. It had been gnawing at her, and now, with Alessandro suddenly back, the questions bubbled up to the surface.
