Alessandro plopped down on the couch, a hint of excitement in his voice. "Eline, my brother's wife," he said, a smile breaking across his face as he leaned back, his posture relaxed.

Yulia looked up from her spot, her legs swinging playfully over the edge of the couch. "I didn't know you had a brother," she replied, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. A part of her felt a pang of jealousy, wishing she had a family connection like that, something solid and comforting.

"Si, one... uh, old," Alessandro stammered, his brow furrowing as he struggled to find the right words. He met her gaze, his expression earnest. "Lives in Italy. Here for... business," he explained, his accent thick yet charming. Yulia listened carefully, nodding in understanding, her heart warming at his effort. She admired his determination to express himself, even if his English wasn't perfect.

"Eline's words, not your head," he added with a teasing grin, his dark eyes twinkling with mischief. Yulia laughed softly, shaking her head at him, her shyness melting away. It felt good to share a light moment with him, a reprieve from her usual anxious thoughts.

"It's okay," she reassured him, her voice gentle. "It was just... unexpected." A flutter of nerves mixed with excitement danced in her stomach. The idea of Alessandro's brother and his wife made her think of what it would be like to belong to a family, to have people who cared for her in that way.

He nodded, appreciating her kindness, but in a sudden burst of playfulness, he scooped her up from the couch and onto his lap. Yulia let out a surprised squeak, her cheeks flushing as she settled against him. The warmth of his body enveloped her, and for a moment, the world outside faded away, leaving only the two of them in their cozy sanctuary. She felt her heart race, a delightful thrill coursing through her as she registered the closeness, his laughter ringing in her ears like music.

"See? Not so bad, eh?" Alessandro teased, his laughter echoing in the air, a slight Italian lilt giving his words a unique rhythm. Yulia couldn't help but giggle, her heart racing in a delightful flurry. She felt an undeniable connection to him in that moment, a spark of something deeper awakening within her. Could she really allow herself to feel this way?

As she looked into his warm, inviting eyes, the barriers she'd built around her heart began to waver. Maybe, just maybe, she could let him in.

"Do you have a nickname?" Yulia asked, looking up at Alessandro, her curiosity piqued. He shook his head, a hint of shyness flickering across his face.

"Do you want to give me a nickname?" he asked, a playful smile tugging at his lips. Alessandro's eyes sparkled with mischief, and he couldn't help but grin.

"You're starting to become like Matteo," she muttered, half-joking, as she sensed a playful rivalry brewing between the two men. Her heart raced at the thought, and she found herself fascinated by how easily she slipped into this teasing banter with him.
