Sebastian was out wandering the castle once again as he often did when he couldn't sleep, mind sorting through all the knowledge he'd accumulated about ways to cure Anne. He often did this, much to Ominis's chagrin but it was his only time of peace.
The dark was a place of solace to him. A place that seemed to understand him, to understand the person he was. He kept a lot in the dark, his feelings, his fears, his real personality. He wasn't as outgoing and fearless as many people thought or as optimistic. It had crossed his mind countless times that Anne couldn't be cured. No one must know.
The dark was safe.
Then he saw something that sparked his curiosity as he passed one of the large windows. A glow, a bluish glow coming from the edge of the forest which was usually blacker than the night.
He found her surrounded by blue butterflies, glowing and bright. When she saw him her smile lit up as well. And seeing her bathed in light he was reminded, although everything seemed hopeless she was hope, a glow that pierced his darkness.
