Arena:

Johanna took a deep breath. Would she be able to do this? Would she be able to forgive herself for what she was about to do? She had been to every other arena, and used every other spell, except those three that Sebastian so willingly would have taught her. Yet now he wasn't here and now she needed to know them.

So she could save him.

"No consequences," the statue had told her. There would be no danger to her soul if she cast them here, in the Dark Arts Arena. But would her mind know that? It may not damage her soul but it may damage her heart. It may haunt her dreams.

Yet the dark creatures that dared face her here, knew what they were risking. They knew they risked death every time they battled each other. But did they know that she would deal death every single time even though she tried not to? Did they know what abnormally powerful being she was?

"They only have themselves to blame." She assured herself. "It'll be fine. I'll be fine. No consequences, no repercussions whatsoever."

 She took a deep breath.

And stepped through the door.

Hogtober Day 2 and Day 5: Feldcroft and Divination

Johanna disliked divination.

It was strange to her and she lacked the patience for it.

She was more open-minded than some but she was very suspicious to someone telling her what to think.

Things that involved the mind freaked her out. She never wanted to be controlled against her will. She didn't want some freaking glass ball or stupid tea leaves to dictate her fate and tell her what to do.

So she ignored the portrait on the wall that called out warnings of her future. Warnings about the things that might go wrong in the end. She did not want to think about the fact that the boy with the letter "S" Sylvia Pembroke spoke of might be Sebastian.

She didn't want to tell her about her strange dreams.

But it was an important class and one she had to take.

So here she was staring into a glowing ball with Natty as Professor Onai rambled on about how to make it work.

"As you look, pay attention to the emotions, and sensations that arise with the images. The visions you see may be literal or metaphorical, and it is essential to this class and your growth in this subject to interpret them as best as you can. Trust your intuition and allow yourself to be open-minded to receiving guidance and wisdom."

Natty groaned. "I can't see anything Johanna. You try."

Johanna sighed and moved closer, staring into the swirling glow. "What is the question we are trying to answer today?"

Natty pulled her hands away and guided Johanna to hold the ball. "Today my friend, mother has said we are looking to find a place important to our destiny. A place can set us on a path, for better or worse. When we visit, we should be cautious. Perhaps we should avoid it entirely."

Johanna took a deep breath and closed her eyes, clearing her mind and trying to be open just like Natty's mother had said. She wanted to do well in this class and to impress Miss Onai, and Fig.

When she opened her eyes she was surprised to see that it was glowing for once, something that had never happened before. An image appeared, a house, Sebastian's house. Then another, a falling wand. Smoke, a cave entrance, flashing colors, blurry voices.

And the feelings.

She felt the heat as if confringo had just shot past her ear, she felt damp, she felt uneasy, she felt terrified, horror, sick to her stomach, she felt a deep sadness, hopelessness, and tears running down her cheeks.

Tears were running down her cheeks. And Natty's voice called to her.

"Johanna! Johanna! Are you alright? What did you see?"

Johanna yanked her hands away from the glass ball as if it had burned her, the images and voices still swirling in her head.

Feldcroft.

Why there? It had always been fine. Or so it seemed.

Isidora was gone so why did it hold so much pain and danger? Anne would be fine.

Everything would be fine. It had to be.

"I'm fine Natty, just fine. I was just...frustrated is all. I saw nothing."

Professor Onai sighed.

It was like she had foreseen.

Johanna had just told her first lie at Hogwarts.
