LEENA'S POV 💍
We were greeting the guests our family had invited, and I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the warmth and love surrounding us. Mom led me away to meet some of her old friends, introducing me with pride, but my mind kept wandering.
Yoongi was across the room, engaged in conversation with other guests, yet somehow, our eyes kept finding each other. Even when we were standing far apart, lost in different conversations, there was an invisible thread pulling us together. His gaze would meet mine, and for a brief moment, everything else faded. The room felt smaller, quieter, as if it were just the two of us.
I could see the soft smile on his lips when our eyes locked, and it made my heart skip a beat. How could we be so far yet feel so close?
I tried to focus on what Mom was saying, nodding politely, but the pull was undeniable. It was as if we were drawn together by some unspoken understanding, an unbreakable bond that had only grown stronger through the day.
Every glance was filled with the weight of irresistible longing to be in each other's arms.
I excused others and was about to walk towards Yoongi, my heart already racing with anticipation when suddenly Jungkook grabbed my arm, pulling me in another direction.
"Leena, come with me. Let me talk to someone," he said with urgency, barely giving me a moment to react.
"Uhh, okay..." I replied, glancing back at Yoongi, feeling a bit confused. His eyes met mine briefly, a flicker of surprise crossing his face as he, too, was pulled away by Jimin.
"Hyung, come with me," Jimin said, tugging at his sleeve, leaving Yoongi no choice but to follow.
I felt a pang of frustration—just when I thought we'd finally get a moment alone, we were being dragged in opposite directions.
My heart longed to be with him, to share in the warmth of his presence, but now, I was left wondering what Jungkook wanted as he led me further away from Yoongi.
Both of us seemed to be stuck in the same situation, wanting nothing more than to escape these distractions and find our way back to each other.
"Here she is... You remember her, right?" Jungkook whispered in my ear, his voice low as he nodded toward a familiar figure.
I nodded slowly, whispering back, "Yes, she's the doctor... What's her name again? Lim... Lim... Umm..." I furrowed my brows, trying to recall it.
"Sooah," Jungkook supplied softly.
"Uhhh... yeah, Sooah. So what about her? And who invited her? You?" I asked, glancing between him and her. She stood there, her usual stern expression fixed, looking as if she’d rather be anywhere else. She was always like this—cold, reserved, hard to approach.
Jungkook smiled, but there was a touch of hesitation in it. "Leena, go talk to her at least... I mean, she's been standing there for so long, and no one noticed her. She probably feels awkward. You know she's introverted, right? Or maybe just... closed off."
I raised a brow, sensing something more behind his words. "Caring, huh? Don’t tell me you like her?"
"Um... I don’t know. I can't say that for sure, but I just feel... something," he admitted, a faint blush rising on his cheeks.
A wide smile spread across my face. "Fine, fine... I'll go talk to her for my brother's sake. But why not you? Why not go talk to her yourself?"
"Nooo... She’ll leave if I go over. I mean, she gets irritated when I'm around. I don't want to make her uncomfortable," he confessed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
