Jenna was finishing up some paperwork before she left for the day. She needed to go home and finish unpacking all her stuff, which she was unhappy about. "Jenna, you're asking for the whole week off?" Alama asked Jenna looked up from her laptop

"Yes, I need the whole week, but I will be answering calls and joining meetings, if need be, from home," she said. Jenna understood that Alama couldn't handle the Maluma account alone, and she wasn't going to let her. She was going to be available. "Thank god, I didn't know how I was going to do this," Alama said, letting out a breath.

Jenna laughed at her boss, "I would never leave you hanging." Jenna started packing her things up. "I will be returning Monday, April 1," Jenna told Alama. She turned and looked at her boss, who looked sad. "Call me if anything goes wrong, and I will grab whatever I'm doing and help you." Jenna hugged her boss and said bye. She left the office and went to the parking garage

She got into her car, and as her phone started going off, she answered it, thinking it was Alama, her trusted friend and confidante. "I just left already a problem, Alama?" Jenna said, chuckling, starting her car up. "Alama?" she pulled her phone from her ear and looked at the caller ID. She didn't recognize the number

"Who's this?" she said into the phone. There was silence for a while. "Your parents might back off you, but a deal was a deal: you will be mine, and Arias can't stop me." The call went dead; she knew exactly who it was. She rolled her eyes. "Why can't he leave me alone?" she sighed, the weight of the deal hanging heavily in the air.

Ryan had been calling for the last four years, and his persistence was frustrating for Jenna. He either threatened her or professed his love. Once Ryan found out Arias got locked up and Jenna left him, he took his chance on trying to win her back. But he looked for her for six months when she left New York. And once he found her, he ensured she knew he wasn't leaving her alone.

Exhausted, Jenna finally arrived home. As she entered her building, she noticed a tall figure engaged in conversation with the lady at the desk. She pulled the door open and walked past them, too tired to spare them a glance. She made her way to the elevator, her fatigue evident in every step. The doors opened, and she stepped inside, barely registering the voice calling to hold the door. She pressed the button and leaned against the wall, her eyes drooping with exhaustion.

When the figure got in, she pressed five, and leaning back on the walls with her eyes closed, she felt so at peace. The silence didn't bother her; she wasn't the type to start a conversation with strangers as she felt herself falling asleep; the elevator did a little bump and stopped. She opened her eyes, the lights dimmed, and an emergency sound was heard. She looked at the elevator button and pressed the call button.

"We have notified the local authority, and they will be there to handle this. Sit tight," the voice on the call said. Jenna's chest tightened, her fear of small, enclosed spaces overwhelming her. She slid down the wall, struggling to catch her breath, her eyes tightly shut. The sound of movement outside the elevator only added to her panic.

The figure squatted down. "Jenna, just breathe in and out," the familiar voice said; Jenna did as she was told, but it didn't, and tears started falling from her eyes. "Hermosa amor solo cálmate." She opened her eyes at those words. She stared into those green-like eyes, getting lost in his gaze. She is no longer crying or breathing heavily. Being in his present always calmed her down

she always felt her safest with him. "You are good, my love," he said with a slight grin. He held on to her hands, rubbing them. He looked up at the door. "Looks like we might be in here for a while," he said, looking back at her. She couldn't take her eyes off him but knew she had to snap out of it. She removed her hands from his grip. "What do we do now?" she asked him

he looked at her for a minute, his gaze filled with a mix of longing and uncertainty, before sitting beside her. "We wait," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of resignation, looking up and closing his eyes. She sighed and looked at her hands, her heart heavy with regret. She missed the warmth of his hands on her, the feeling of being home when he touched her.

Arias could see her out of the corner of his eyes, her hands restless. He reached out and held her hand, knowing she craved his touch as much as he did hers. A small smile graced her lips as she leaned back, finding peace in his touch. She turned to him, her eyes lingering on his face, admiring the man he had become. He was still as handsome as ever, if not more, she thought to herself.

She wondered if he would get his shit together, would they still be together? She laid her head back again, just lost in thought. "What got you thinking so hard?" Arias said, looking at the stress on Jenna's face. She shook her. "Nothing, just thinking," Jenna said. She didn't feel like arguing with him tonight, so Jenna eft what was in the past alone. He knew Jenna was hiding something, but he left it alone. He stared at her, taking in her appearance. She still looked the same to him.

She just looked like a grown woman, and he smiled at himself. "Do you remember our first date?" he asked her. She opened her eyes and looked at him. "How could I forget that night?" she said, laughing. "You know I was nervous that night. I changed my outfit six times and even had my mother pick out my last outfit," he said, laughing. "Really?" She didn't know that about him. Jenna always thought she was the only one nervous about their first date

"Yeah, I didn't want to mess up, and I thought I would," he said, sighing. I wanted the date to be perfect. I had all my friends set everything up while I got changed," he said, smiling. "Even though the night didn't go as planned and even though Ryan ruined it," he said, looking up. She chuckled at him. "What's funny?" he said, frowning his eyebrows at her.

Jenna's laughter filled the air once more. "You," she said, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him. "The night was perfect, at least for me. No one, not even Ryan, had ever taken me out on a date." Jenna fixed her gaze on Arias, and the frown that had once creased Arias's brow now transformed into a smile. "You made that night special in every way possible. I was overjoyed to be with you. I remember excitedly telling my best friend about the date."

"I think that was the night I knew I didn't want to stop seeing you. I prayed you would come back around. ... I still do pray for you to come back," she said, her voice soft with longing. She didn't think he would hear that, but what Jenna didn't know was that Arias did hear it. He didn't want to question it, but just knowing she still wanted to be around him made him happier than he could express.

they heard some movement, and the lights all turned back on, and the elevator started moving. Both looked around and got up. He helped her up as the doors opened, and they both walked out and looked around. A lady was walking towards them. "We are sorry about that. We got it fixed as fast as we could. Are you two okay?" she asked. Both nodded their head yes. "I honestly just want to go home," Jenna said, her voice filled with exhaustion.

"I understand. I will let you both be and again sorry about that," she said before leaving. Arias and Jenna turned and headed to their apartments. Turning the corner, Jenna tried walking but was pulled back. Both looked down and realized they had still been holding hands. They let go of each other, a sense of understanding and forgiveness in the air. "I'm sorry," both said together.

Jenna looked at Arias before walking to her door. She opened her door and took one last look at him. "Good night, Jenna, sweet dreams, beautiful," Arias said before walking into his place. She sighed. "Good night, Arias," she said more to herself. Walking into her place, she kicked her shoes off, put her keys in this bowl on her countertop, turned the lights on

she sighed walking to her room and started removing her clothes. She went straight for the bathroom. She took an excellent 50-minute shower, just letting the water hit her body. After a while, she washed up and then got out. She changed into a long T-shirt and walked to her room to dry her hair. She noticed the book. She pulled it out, and the first thing she saw when opening it was their first date picture. She smiled to herself, remembering the day
