Luis ✨
Warehouse
Spanish Halerm, New YorkAfter hanging up the phone, Luis glanced at Jesus with a furrowed brow. "Who was that?" he inquired, trying to divert Luis's attention from the game he was engrossed in. "Arias. He's asking us to handle Daisy," Jesus revealed, his expression reflecting his inner conflict. He couldn't help but feel that Arias shouldn't give in to Jenna, believing that she should have stood by Arias during his time behind bars. "She's been a burden on him for too long," Luis retorted, his eyes fixed on the game. "But why do we have to get involved now?" Jesus probed further. "Jenna's back in the picture," Luis disclosed with a grin spreading across his face. Jesus was aware of Luis's deep affection for Jenna, akin to that of a protective older brother. "Why aren't you ecstatic? This is fantastic news," Luis urged, eagerly anticipating Jesus's agreement.
"Man, don't tell me you're still stuck on that part of her leaving?" Luis couldn't understand why Jesus was so upset about something that didn't seem to bother Arias. Luis knew that Jenna had stayed loyal for as long as she could, but the lifestyle was never meant for her, and everyone knew it. "Jesus, she had her reasons for leaving, and I don't blame her for those reasons," Luis always advised Arias to leave the criminal life before he lost the person he loved the most. When she did leave, she took his heart and soul with her, and after Arias got out, he became cold-hearted and numb to everything. Nobody could recognize the person he had become.
"Y'all may think that Arias is happy now, but you saw the drastic change in him. None of us could recognize the person he became. He turned into someone we couldn't understand, and it seemed like he was losing his mind. Do we really want to go through that again?" Jesus stared at Luis, waiting for his response. However, Luis was at a loss for words. He wanted Arias to find happiness, but he couldn't deny that Arias had changed so much. He had become mean and difficult to be around, and those first two years had everyone concerned that something terrible might happen to him.
"Listen, I'm not saying you're wrong," Luis finally spoke up, "but I can't bring myself to stop Arias from pursuing happiness. If he wants to give things a try with Jenna, then maybe we should let him." Luis made it clear that he wasn't going to involve himself in Arias' relationship, especially when it came to Jenna. "I'm not taking my eyes off Daisy. She's the only person who can help him get his head on straight," Jesus said, Luis give Jesus a serious look. "You either help out, or Aria will deal with you. It's your choice." Luis was concerned about Jesus' behavior at the moment. "You might not like her, but she's not someone you should be worried about," Luis added before leaving the warehouse and heading to his car.
Luis swiftly retrieved his phone and dialed Rick's number. After just one ring, Rick answered, with loud music blaring in the background. "Hey, what's up?" he inquired. "Where are you?" Luis asked. "I'm on 114th. Why? What's going on?" Rick responded, sounding concerned. "Relax, I'm good. Arias wants us to deal with Daisy. Are you in?" Luis knew Rick would be on board. "Why? I mean, I'm in, but why?" Rick asked, puzzled. "Jenna," Luis replied, prompting a jubilant outburst from Rick on the other end of the line. Luis had to pull the phone away from his ear to shield himself from the exuberant reaction. "That's what the fuck I'm talking about," Rick exclaimed. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for her to come back."
