Chapter 8

Y/N awoke early next morning when the first crew members scurried around upstairs to ready the ship to leave port. She was mindful of her step as she went out on deck too, trying not to stand in anyone's way.

She discovered Minji standing at the wheel and ran an obstacle course over the ship to get to her. Some people greeted her with surprising manners, and Y/N also waved at Dahyun, who perched high above them in the crow's nest.

Minji greeted Y/N with a deliberate nod. The pirate muttered something to Ryujin, who joined them from the other side. When the chef's eyes found Y/N, a big grin stretched her lips. Ryujin sidestepped Minji to swing a heavy arm around Y/N's shoulders.
Y/N huffed as the pirate drew her in with a boisterous laugh.

"How did you sleep, your highness? Did you even sleep?" Ryujin wriggled her eyebrows as she smirked.

Minji gave them a distasteful glance, wrinkling her nose. Y/N was eager to lift her hands in defence. Not that the princess at the rudder minded the crew's raunchy activities at the ports, but Y/N felt the need to defend her royalty stance.

"I did nothing! I got back earlier with Tzuyu!" Y/N defended.

Ryujin's giggles made Yeji smile on her way up to them. The red haired girl's steps, that were still sluggish from sleep, thumped on the stairs as she made her way up.

"Aye, you did. Did you regret that decision? We had so much fun." Ryujin patted Y/N's head teasingly.

Y/N shook her head, stubbornly crossing her arms. "I was fine. Maybe I'll join you next time," she bluffed.

The establishment had successfully scared Y/N off and had her head spin for the entire evening. She would probably never join them again and rather stay with Tzuyu on the ship to flee from there.

Ryujin patted Y/N's back with a rough hand. "Aye, you do that. Can't wait to see that again." she went over to join Yeji to discuss their stored meat with her.

Y/N remembered something and followed the two of them to leave Minji to her duties.

"Say... I saw captain yesterday; she had a guest. Where did that man go? Did he leave before sunrise?" Y/N was worried. She knew it was a bad idea for a person to walk around when it was dark out, even if it was a man.

The captain would not be that cruel, right? Jennie and the man had looked very close, after all. It must be Jennie's privilege as a captain to invite her visitors over to her ship instead of leaving for the town as the rest did.

"Man? What man?" Both Ryujin and Yeji observed Y/N with sceptical features.

Y/N hesitated, not sure whether she just disclosed secret information. Not that the captain's private matters were her problem. "I-"

She was lucky because in the same moment she fumbled for a reply, the door beneath them opened.

Jennie stumbled out with her lips passionately locked with the ones of the man. She was embraced by his entire form and completely occupied by his hungrily kissing lips.

Y/N blushed but kept looking at them, pointing the couple out to Ryujin. "This one. Is he staying here for a while?"

It looked scandalising. Not only they kissed out in the open, but Jennie also kissed like a beast ravaging her prey. She cradled the man pressed close to her body, head tilted in order to plunder his mouth, while sweet gasps and moans escaped him.

Ryujin glanced at them over her shoulder as those two tumbled against the railing. Jennie's hands snuck under the man's top to scratch his chest.

Y/N's face grew hot once more, and she looked anywhere but at the duo. What a way to treat someone, even if that person liked it, and arched into the captain's greedy touch.
