The dining hall was in shambles when Y/N and Jennie arrived back to it.
The chandelier had crashed onto the table, diamonds were strewn glintingly all over the floor. It was dark except for the faint light shining from the now opened doors, casting grotesque shadows on the scene. The chairs had been thrown around carelessly, a window was broken and the heavy curtains sliced to shreds.
It looked like a whole bomb had exploded in here or something and Y/N was looking around with big eyes, making out two dark-clad figures on the floor. They were lying very, very still.
"Captain?"
Y/N would deny her violent flinch at that, just how Jennie would deny immediately pulling Y/N protectively by her waist.
It was a meek voice, calling from the darker corners of the room and Jennie stepped in without further hesitation, still only holding that single dagger of her that was easy to hide within her clothes.
"Dahyun? Is it you? Or Sana?" The captain asked.
Y/N trusted Jennie as she closed up to whoever was hiding in the corner, she instead stepped closer to the two still bodies on the floor that were surrounded by a pool of dark liquid. Y/N was slow when she crouched next to the bodies, constantly expecting them to lunge at her.
"It's Dahyun. Sana is here too but she is unconscious."
Jennie gave a sigh and then rustling was heard when she was getting those two. Y/N carefully turned around the bodies on the floor, deciding that they were indeed very dead.
Y/N forced down the bile rising in her throat again, staring at Minji's beautiful face covered with blood and Ryujin's eyes wide open in forever frozen horror. That made three out of eight. Five more to go and Y/N's clone was god knows where.
Y/N stood up again when the others came stumbling into view, carrying a limp Sana in between them. From the way Dahyun avoided Jennie's searching gaze with guilt in her eyes; those two had been too distracted by each other to fight or something as reckless. Y/N sighed too.
Dahyun lifted her uncertain eyes to Y/N however, eyeing her first and then Jennie. "Why-"
"She's the real one. I will explain later. Do you know where the others went?"
"When they noticed they were outnumbered, they fled to the port. Y/N's double might be there?" Dahyun accepted the situation easily, stepping out with them into the corridor.
Sana did look a bit pale, an injury on her head caking her hair with blood but Dahyun assured them she was going to be fine, instead, looking around searchingly.
"They are back." Dahyun mumbled.
Confused, Y/N looked at their feet Dahyun was pointing at, blinking when she saw Jennie's and Dahyun's actual shadows again. They were as harmless as they were supposed to be, following them dutifully.
Y/N's was still missing, and if she looked a bit closer, the other two shadows also did not look quite right. They were wearing hats where the real pirates did not. In general, they seemed like the dark silhouettes of their doppelgangers, and Y/N suppressed another shiver.
"That means they managed to kill your double too, Dahyun. That's good then." Jennie motioned them to leave, and Y/N exchanged positions with her, carrying Sana securely while Jennie checked the corridors in front of them.
They were closing up on the foyer, just some fancy T-staircase and a marble hall separating them from the exit.
In the foyer, however, there was still fighting going on, and Jennie motioned for them to stay while she quickly jumped down the stairs.
