Madelyn's POV
Me and Millie were sitting on the couch when the guys came from the kitchen with popcorn, chocolate, candy and some drinks for all of us. They literally filled their coffee table with snacks.
For at least 15 minutes we talked about what movie would we watch first. None of us were in the mood for a rom-com so we all agreed to pick a horror movie, quite literally my favourite genre of movies.
"I don't watch horror movies usually so I don't know which one to choose." Nick said, passing the remote to Matt, who sat next to him.
"What makes you think I do?" he asked his brother when Millie reached to grab the remote.
"Oh my god you guys I am NOT spending another fucking decade just so you can pick a movie. Madi, you're into this shit. I know you'll pick a good one." she said as she gave me the remote.
"What about The Conjuring? The plot is based on a true story and it should be pretty terrifying." I said as they nodded so I started to search up the movie.
"How can someone be into this spooky shit?" Chris, who sat on the other side of me, asked out loud.
"Wish I had an answer for you." I told him honestly, because I truly don't know why I'm into this shit. I just know I like it.
Okay I may like this crazy shit, but this movie is actually terrifying. Nick and Millie were screaming once every 5 minutes while Matt was trying to calm them down.
The movie went almost silent, giving an eerie feeling to the viewer. Not a lot of time passed when the sounds got intense as a jumpscare came on the screen. Whoever named it like that was smart, because this one actually made me jump, leaning closer to Chris and grabbing his arm out of fear. He turned to look at me and asked me.
"Hey, you okay?"
"Yeah, sorry. Usually I only get a little bit spooked but this movie is actually scaring me right now." I told him as I let go of his arm and backed away from him.
"It's on you tho, you picked it." he said, looking back at the screen.
"It's really not that ba–FUCK!" I wanted to tell him but when I looked at the TV another jumpscare came on, making me grab his arm again and hide my face in it.
"You were saying?" he said looking back at me and finding this funny.
"I'm gonna get fucking nightmares after this." I said as I lifted my head and reached one of my hands to grab a water bottle.
"Tell me about it, I'll be terrified to go to sleep." Millie said, making me turn to her.
"Oh come on, you'll be sleeping with Matt, at least you guys have each other. I'll be home alone in a house I haven't spent more than one hour in." I told her, Millie looking at Matt who was already looking at her.
"Sleep with me tonight PLEASE! I need a cuddle buddy after this movie." Nick said, being incredibly open to the idea of sleeping next to someone who he just met.
"As long as it's not a problem, I'll be more than happy to. I cannot bear the thought of being by myself tonight." I told him as I got up to go and turn on the light.
"Wait then who am I supposed to be with tonight? I'm equally as scared as all of you." Chris asked us, joking but also genuinely wondering.
"Maybe Bathsheba will keep you company if you ask nicely." I said, sitting down next to Nick, his hand shooting up to his mouth after hearing what I said.
"Oh my god shut up, you were quite literally using me as a shield every time she came up on the screen." Chris shot back, acting offended even though he wasn't.
