Madelyn's POV

I was sitting at the airport, waiting to get on the plane. I can't believe I'm going back. I'm finally going back!

When Amelia asked me to move in with her, I felt like I was getting pranked. It was too good to be true. But in reality it wasn't. I'm actually moving in with my childhood best friend.

What time are you boarding?

I should be on the plane in
maybe 15 minutes.

Okay, I'm picking you up, is it
okay if Matt comes too?
He's got a minivan and your
bags won't fit in my mini cooper.

Oh 100%, I can't wait to meet
him, he sounds like a sweetheart!

Great, just text me as soon as
you get off the plane.

Will do babe, see you in a few
hours.💕

Literally shut up cause I still

Me neither Mills, I gotta go, the
boarding started.

I grabbed my carry-on and started walking to the right gate. When I got on the plane, the reality kicked in. I'm actually flying across the country to live with my best friend. That thought replayed in my mind for the whole flight, making the time go by faster and before I knew it, we were landing at LAX.

When I got off the plane I quickly texted Millie that I landed and I'm going to baggage claim. I grabbed my bags and made my way towards the exit. As I was walking, I saw a couple next to a little coffee shop and I recognised the girl immediately. The boy saw me walking in their direction so he told the girl something, making her turn around to look at me.

"MADELYN!" she yelled, running to me.

"AMELIA!" I yelled too, hugging her as soon as she reached me. We stayed like that for a little bit, enjoying the sweet moment.

"I can't believe you're here! And that we're going to be roommates! And live together! And be inseparable like we were when we were younger! Oh and–"

"Okay, take a deep breath Amy, she's not going anywhere." the boy said, interrupting Millie's rant.

"I know I know, but you have no idea how excited I am, Matt. She's my day one and she's finally here." she told him, tears forming in her eyes.

"Don't you dare do that because then I will do that too." I said, getting a little emotional myself.

"I'm convinced we're gonna cry for like half an hour when we get home." Millie said, laughing a little bit.

"If not more." I laughed too.

"Oh, stupid me. You two finally get to meet and I'm talking about bawling our eyes out. Madi, this is Matt. Matt, this is Madi." Millie said.

"It's okay babe, like I said, she's not going anywhere." Matt told her.

"He's right. It's nice to finally meet you." I said, putting my hand out to shake his. He ignored it and went in for a hug.

"Forget the formalities, she talks so much about you, I feel like I already know you." Matt said, pulling away.

"Oh my god same goes for you. I'm surprised how this is the first time we talk, since I have FaceTimed Millie when she was at your place before." I told him.

"I wanted to give her and you the time to talk to each other. You were on the other side of the country, I didn't want to interrupt you guys." Matt explained to me. I turned to look at Millie and then back to Matt then back to Millie.

"You really hit the lottery with this one." I told her.

"Yeah, I really did." she said, looking at her boyfriend, giving him a smile.

"Okay, let's go to the car and get you home, you must be exhausted." Matt said as we started walking.

"Not right not, but the jet lag will probably hit me later." I said, laughing slightly.

When we got to the car, Matt opened both of our doors and then went to put my bags in the back.

"Gentleman." I told Millie who chuckled as Matt got in the car.

"So first we're gonna go to your guys' place to drop off your bags. After that, if you're up for it or if you're not too busy catching up with each other, you can come to my place for a chill night. We might watch a movie, maybe play a game. Amy is there all the time but since you're moving in I assumed she would want to spend some time with you." Matt said.

"Not even here for an hour and you two already make me feel like I am home. I have to change my clothes cause it's hot as fuck here, but why not kill two birds with one stone? If Millie's going then I'm going." I said as she turned from the passenger seat.

"Like back in the day?" she asked me.

"Like back in the day." I said excitedly. "Is it just gonna be the three of us?" I asked them.

"Us three and my brothers." Matt said.

"Oh you have brothers?" I asked him.

"Wait she doesn't know?" Matt asked Millie.

"Nope, I wanted to see her reaction." Millie answered.

"Oh, she's in for a surprise." Matt said, looking at me through the mirror.

"What the fuck is going on" I asked, confusion all over my face.

"You'll see. And to answer your question, yes. I have three brothers. One is younger and two are older. But the oldest one doesn't live with us." Matt told me.

"Okayy..."

"We're here!" Millie said as Matt parked the car.

I looked outside and saw a beautiful house. A house I'll be living in with my best friend of all time.

Moving here was the best decision I've ever made!
