Chris' POV
"Let's do karaoke!" M suggested and personally, I think it's a good idea. We used to do a lot of karaoke with her and we always ended up having a lot of fun.
"I'm in." I said and she smiled.
"Me too." Matt and Nick said at the same time.
"I'll pass, but I'll hang out with y'all." she said as we all looked at her. I didn't expect her to bail out on karaoke with her cousin.
"Noo, come on Madi please sing with us!" Madison whined trying to get her to agree. But for some reason she wouldn't budge.
"Don't push it, Beer." she said, glaring at M.
"I will push it, Groove. You love to sing, I don't get why you're bailing on a karaoke night. Weren't we just talking about your songs?" Madison said and Madelyn snapped her head into her direction so fast I thought she might've hurt herself.
"Wait, your songs?" Matt asked Madelyn the question that was in my mind in that moment. I never knew she writes songs. Or that she's into music whatsoever.
"You write?" I asked her too and she just looked at Madison and then Nick for some reason, who I now realise that he didn't look shocked at all.
"Mhm, would've loved if that stayed between us." she said giving a look to Madison.
"I'm so sorry, I thought they knew." M said, looking really upset that she shared her cousin's secret.
"It's okay, I'm not mad at you. You know I can't be." Madelyn said but everyone could tell she was a little upset.
"Don't worry, you don't have to sing one of you songs." Nick spoke up, reassuring his friend, but the curiosity got the best of me.
"Why? She's a song writer, let's hear what she writes." I said and Nick's and Madison's eyes shot me a look that would probably kill me if it could.
"Don't listen to him." Nick said, wrapping an arm around Madelyn.
While everyone was trying to find songs for themselves, I couldn't help but wonder why didn't she want us to hear her own songs. Are they that bad? They probably are, given the fact that they're written by her.
The atmosphere started to lighten back up after the discussions earlier, laughs or giggles being heard ever so often. Matt was the first one to sing, shortly after being Nick's turn. You can easily tell neither one of us is a singer and that's the fun in it. We don't care what the people think, we just have a good time with each other.
Madison was the third one, singing 'Please Please Please' by Sabrina Carpenter. Do I even need to say she killed that? It's Madison Beer after all, she's one of the most talented people I know. After her came my turn and I chose one of Lil Skies' songs.
When I was done, I turned to Madelyn and thrown the mic, her catching it quite easily.
"Let's hear you, popstar wannabe." I said, earning myself a punch in the shoulder from Nick and a dirty look from Matt.
An instrumental I've never heard before started playing and soon enough, Madelyn started singing.
"It's one of her songs." Madison whispered to us and that surprised me because, well ,to be fair, she does have a good voice and the lyrics are really well written.
"I could never
Keep a straight face for causing you pain
Say it's your imagination
That's what you do like you gotta prove
You're not what I had faith in, no."Madelyn sang and I couldn't help but think that these lyrics are targeted. And for some reason, I feel like I was the one they were about.
She continued her song and I'd have to say I was impressed. Her voice was actually amazing, and despite my previous assumptions that her songs were trash, this one is really good and catchy.
"I don't wanna play a sick twisted game
Of who can do worse to the other
And I'll walk away
I don't wana play, ay."She sand the bridge of the song and in that moment I subconsciously knew this song was about me. Was I actually that mean that it made her literally write a song about me? I pushed that thought aside as she finished singing.
"That was FUCKING AMAZING!" Nick said and got up to hug her.
"Thank you, it's a song I recently finished." Madelyn said and hugged him back.
"I told you that you were talented, you dumbass!" Madison said, making everyone chuckle.
"The song was good, and you have a nice voice." I said, catching Madelyn by surprise.
"Okay, where's the irony or joke in that statement?" she asked me and I just looked at her before answering.
"There's no irony or joke, I'm being serious." I said, and to be honest there really wasn't anything in what I said. She was good, really good.
"Oh, thank you." Madelyn said, and I could see a slight blush creep up on her face, which only made my heart beat quicken for some reason.
I gave her a nod and went on my phone so no one could tell I was uncomfortable. Madison and Nick sang a few more songs, giving us a whole ass performance.
Later in the night, me, Matt and Nick said bye to the girls and made our way home. While we were driving, I looked at Nick through the rear view mirror and spoke up.
"You knew about her songs, didn't you?" I asked and he widened his eyes for a second.
"Yeah, I did know." Nick answered, making me and Matt look at each other.
"Well why didn't you tell us anything?" Matt asked and Nick quickly answered.
"Because it was not my story to tell." he said and with that out conversation ended until we got home.
We went inside and I was making my way to my room until Matt stopped me.
"Nope, turn around, living room. Now." he said and I did as I was told, not knowing what the fuck was going on.
"I'm not gonna beat around the bush and I'll just ask you. What the hell do you have against Madi?" Nick said, making me turn to look at him.
"I just don't like her, I don't get why everyone is so invested in my hatred towards her." I replied and Nick's eyes basically said 'you're full of shit'.
"I don't believe you, when she first got here you two really got along well. What happened?" He asked me and I sighed.
"We did get along well. But then she gave me this weird feeling so I decided to stay away." I told them and Matt spoke up.
"Weird feeling? Like what, suddenly feeling nervous and at a loss of words?" he asked, describing the way I was feeling perfectly.
"Yeah, just like that. Even today when I tried to be nice, I just got the same feeling." I said and he only smirked and looked at Nick. "What? Why are you looking at him like that?" I continued, confused by their behaviour.
"Chris, are you sure you weren't developing a little crush on our Madelyn?" Matt asked me and I raised my eyebrows with nothing but shock on my face.
"Are you joking? Of course I don't like her. Are you two going crazy?" I said as I got up and walked to my room, huffing out a breath I didn't even notice I was holding. How could they even think that? I hate that girl with all my being.
"Denial is a river in Egypt babe!" Nick yelled to make sure I could hear him.
"Fuck off Nicolas!" I yelled back as I finally got to my room, slamming my door annoyed at my brothers and their theories.
