***THIRD PERSON POV***

Glimmer stood in front of the mirror, her fingers tugging at the hem of her shirt. Her reflection stared back, but she couldn't see the girl who usually smiled confidently at the world. Instead, all she saw were the flaws the imperfections that, to her, felt impossible to ignore.

Her hair, normally shining and perfect, seemed dull and limp. Her face was that a blemish? And her body... she frowned, tugging at the fabric around her waist, feeling self-conscious in a way she hadn't allowed herself to admit before.

A small knock on the door pulled her out of her spiraling thoughts.

"Glim?" Marvel's voice came from the other side, gentle but concerned. "You alright?"

Glimmer hesitated for a second, not sure if she wanted him to see her like this. Vulnerable, raw, and insecure. But then again, Marvel wasn't just anyone. He was... Marvel.

"Yeah, come in," she finally said, her voice quieter than usual.

Marvel opened the door and stepped inside, his eyes immediately finding her in front of the mirror. "Hey..." he started, but his brows furrowed when he noticed the look on her face. "What's wrong?"

She turned away from the mirror quickly, trying to hide the way she felt. But Marvel wasn't having it. He crossed the room in a few steps, his hands gently resting on her shoulders as he turned her back toward him.

"Glim," he said softly, his blue eyes searching hers. "Talk to me."

She bit her lip, not knowing how to explain the mess of emotions swirling inside her. It felt stupid, silly even, but the feeling wouldn't go away. "I just... I don't feel like myself," she mumbled, looking down at the floor.

Marvel's frown deepened. "What do you mean? You look—"

"Don't," she cut him off, her voice sharper than she meant it to be. "Please, don't tell me I look beautiful. I don't feel it right now."

He blinked, caught off guard by her tone. But instead of backing off, he took a step closer, his hands sliding down her arms until he held her hands in his. "Okay," he said quietly. "I won't say that."

They stood there for a moment, the silence hanging heavy between them. Glimmer's heart was racing, not from his touch, but from the vulnerability she was showing. She hated feeling like this. She hated feeling weak.

"I don't know what's wrong with me," she finally whispered. "I just... I look in the mirror, and all I see are the things that aren't right. My hair, my skin, my... everything. I feel like I'm not good enough."

Marvel's face softened, his grip on her hands tightening just slightly. "Glimmer..."

"I know it sounds stupid," she continued, her voice cracking a little. "But I can't help it. I just feel... ugly."

That word—ugly—hung in the air, making her stomach churn. She wasn't used to admitting things like this. She wasn't used to feeling this way at all.

Marvel was quiet for a second, his thumbs gently rubbing circles on the back of her hands. When he finally spoke, his voice was low but firm. "You're not stupid."

She looked up at him, surprised.

"You're not stupid," he repeated, his eyes locked on hers. "And you're definitely not ugly."

She opened her mouth to protest, but he cut her off gently.

"Let me finish," he said softly. "I know you don't want to hear me say you're beautiful right now, so I won't. But I need you to know that whatever you're feeling, whatever's going on in your head, that doesn't change how I see you. And I don't just see you as 'beautiful,' Glim. I see you. All of you."

Her throat tightened, and she swallowed hard, trying to keep her emotions in check.

"I see the girl who can outsmart anyone in a heartbeat. The one who makes everyone in the room laugh without even trying. The one who's stronger than half the people I know." He added, his voice dropping slightly, "You're also the girl I'm absolutely crazy about. But not just because you're beautiful. Because you're you."

His words hit her harder than she expected, the sincerity in his voice wrapping around her heart like a blanket of warmth. Marvel wasn't saying these things just to make her feel better. He meant them. Every single word.

"But what if I don't feel like that person?" she asked quietly, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "What if I can't see what you see?"

Marvel gently cupped her face in his hands, tilting her head up so she couldn't look away. "Then I'll be here to remind you every damn day if I have to."

She let out a shaky breath, her hands coming up to rest on his wrists, holding onto him as if he was her lifeline. "Marvel..."

"Glim," he said, his voice so soft, it made her heart ache. "You're more than just your looks. More than just what you see in the mirror. And I'll keep reminding you of that until you believe it."

For the first time that night, a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. It wasn't much, but it was enough. Enough to remind her that she wasn't alone in this. That maybe, just maybe, she didn't have to carry all this weight by herself.

Marvel smiled back, his thumb brushing away a tear that had slipped down her cheek. "There's that smile I love."

She rolled her eyes, though the gesture lacked its usual bite. "Don't get used to it."

"Oh, I plan on seeing it more," he teased lightly, though his gaze remained tender. "You've got no idea how much it lights up a room."

Her heart swelled at his words, and for the first time in a while, she didn't feel quite so insecure. It wasn't gone, not completely, but with Marvel here, his steady presence, his unwavering support, she knew she could face it.

"Thanks," she whispered, her voice a little stronger now.

Marvel leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. "Anytime."

As she rested her head against his chest, his arms wrapped around her, holding her close, Glimmer felt something she hadn't felt all night: safe. Safe in his arms, safe from her insecurities, even if just for a moment.

And maybe, just maybe, that was enough.
