***THIRD PERSON***

The warm sunlight streamed through the trees, casting dappled shadows on the ground. Finch had always loved the woods; the way the leaves whispered secrets to each other and the earthy smell of the soil brought her a sense of peace. Today, she had ventured further than usual, lost in her thoughts, contemplating the future.

As she wandered, she didn't notice the sky darkening until the first drop of rain hit her cheek. She looked up, surprised, and in an instant, the gentle drizzle turned into a downpour. Finch laughed softly, appreciating the sudden change in weather. There was something liberating about being caught in the rain.

"Hey! Finch!" Thresh's voice boomed from behind her. She turned to see him jogging towards her, his tall frame silhouetted against the gray sky.

"Thresh!" she called out, her smile growing wider. "Isn't it wonderful?"

He stopped beside her, water streaming down his face, his hair sticking to his forehead. "You're insane," he replied, shaking his head with a grin. "You'll catch a cold out here."

Finch laughed, spinning around in the rain. "What's wrong with a little rain? It feels good!"

Thresh rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress his own smile. "You're going to get soaked."

"Exactly!" she said, splashing a puddle at his feet. "Come on, live a little!"

With a dramatic sigh, Thresh stepped back, a playful glint in his eyes. "Fine. But I'm not responsible if you get sick."

He stepped forward, joining her in the downpour. They danced around each other, splashing water and laughing, their voices ringing out in the otherwise quiet woods. Finch felt lighter than she had in weeks, the worries of the world washed away by the rain.

After a while, they collapsed onto the ground, breathless and laughing, surrounded by a chorus of raindrops. Finch lay back, staring up at the gray clouds. "This is amazing," she said, her voice a mixture of awe and delight.

Thresh turned to her, propping himself up on his elbow. "You really enjoy this, huh?"

"More than you know," she replied, glancing at him. "It feels like we're the only two people in the world right now."

He studied her for a moment, his expression thoughtful. "It's nice to escape everything for a while."

"Exactly." She shifted closer, feeling the warmth radiating from him despite the cold rain. "Sometimes it's good to just be free, even if it's for a moment."

Thresh's gaze softened, and he shifted to lie beside her, their shoulders touching. "You're always so positive, Finch. I admire that about you."

Finch felt her cheeks heat up at his compliment. "I try. Life can be tough, you know? But if we don't find joy in the little things, what's the point?"

He smiled, a genuine, warm smile that made her heart race. "I think you might be right about that."

They lay in comfortable silence for a few moments, the rain creating a soothing symphony around them. Finch could feel the tension of the outside world slowly fade away, leaving just the two of them and the gentle rhythm of the storm.

"Thresh?" she asked, breaking the quiet.

        "Yeah?"

"Do you think we'll always have moments like this? Just... being ourselves?"

He turned to face her, his expression serious now. "I hope so. I'd like that."

Finch's heart fluttered at his words. There was something in his gaze that made her feel safe and understood. She couldn't remember the last time someone had looked at her like that.

"Me too," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

He reached out, his fingers brushing against hers, the connection sending a jolt of warmth through her. "You're special, Finch. Don't ever forget that."

Her breath caught in her throat, and for a moment, the world around them faded away. The rain, the trees, everything blurred into the background, leaving just the two of them. Finch felt a rush of emotions, a mix of gratitude and something deeper, something she couldn't quite put her finger on.

"Thank you," she murmured, her eyes locked onto his.

For a heartbeat, everything hung in the air, suspended in time. And in that moment, Finch realized she didn't just enjoy the rain; she enjoyed being here with him.

As if sensing the shift, Thresh leaned closer, his voice low and steady. "You mean a lot to me, Finch."

Her heart raced as she closed the gap between them, their breaths mingling in the cool air.

"You mean a lot to me too, Thresh."

And just like that, under the downpour of the rain, they shared a fleeting moment that felt like a promise, one that whispered of more adventures, more laughter, and perhaps more than just friendship in the days to come.
