Since the beginning of their relationship, Char noticed one thing: Everyone seems to have a thing for her girlfriend. She can't blame them. Mia, with her deep red hair, beautiful eyes, addicting voice, and ethereal body, always catches someone's eyes, but they all just fall for her looks. Char, on the other hand, while, of course, noticing her beauty, fell in love with Mia as a person. After she showed her the good that is inside of her, the caring and soft side she had locked away. That's what she fell in love with.

So when she overhears Agatha speaking with Marjorie about how attractive Mia is and that if she wasn't married-, Char didn't stay to hear the rest of the conversation. She hates it when people reduce Mia to an object, she knows Mia doesn't mind it as much since she is so used to it by now, sometimes not even noticing the stares she gets. If Char tells her that a person at the Club or wherever they are has been looking at her and trying to get her attention for the last few minutes, Mia just shrugs and smiles her winning smile at Charlotte replying: ‘I didn't notice, and I don't care. My eyes are only on you, sweetheart.’ Pulling her into a kiss afterward, letting everyone know they belong together.

Char can't help the dopey grin spreading across her face as she thinks about that day and just not that day. Mia never, not even once, did something that showed her that she couldn’t trust her. Even in the beginning, Char always had this strange calm feeling whenever she was around the redhead.

She quickly shakes her head to clear her thoughts as the first parents step through the door. The next few hours go over uneventful and soon Char is getting ready to go on break.

Mia promised to pick her up and Char is giddy with excitement since she saw her pull into the parking lot a few minutes ago, quickly finishing her tasks and leaving right on time. Making her way past the baby room she hears two of her new colleagues talking.

"Damn, who is that hot redhead there?" A woman with long, wavy brown hair asks. Her name is Samantha, but everyone calls her Sammy.

"Hm? Oh, that's Mia, she is on the board of directors. You are right, she is well fit." The other woman, Claire, answers. Looking out of the window as well.

Char rolls her eyes and is just about to start walking again when Sammy speaks up again:"Is she single?"

"No, I don't think so. She was with Reece for a long time and she is with Charlotte now, as far as I know.": Claire answers.

"Wait, Charlotte? The meek, pushover from the other nursery? You got to be kidding me. Why would such a strong badass woman want something from her?": Sammy snorts.

Char wants to say something, anything. She is boiling with rage but her mouth just won't open. She feels tears prick in her eyes because she is asking herself this question all the time. She quickly walks away before the two women see her lingering in the door.

She wipes her sleeves along her eyes, desperately holding her tears in, she doesn't want Mia to worry. She has been so sweet the last week. Always picking Char up from work and letting her vent about the horrible parents and staff, before pulling her gently onto her lap and holding her softly, while she, of course, offers to have a talk with the persons in question to which Char just shakes her head, but right now she is considering it. The temptation to let her mean girlfriend from the leash is there, but as quickly as the thought comes she buries it again. She can't expect Mia to fight her battles for her even if the redhead would love nothing more than to put every single person who dares to upset her sweet Char in their place.

She sighs as she opens the door, seeing Mia leaning against her car, she feels herself calm down a bit at seeing her comfort person, who is just looking up from her phone, smiling brightly as she sees her, putting her phone away and starts to walk towards Char, who lets herself fall into the waiting arms of the redhead.
