Mia sighs as she gets out of the car. After a really shitty day at the nursery, where she doesn't even work anymore, but was called to attend an important meeting, she just wanted to pick up Char at the other nursery, but upon arriving she hears a big comotion going on inside. Instantly worried about her girlfriend she decides to investigate. As she walks through the doors, she is welcomed by the sight of an angry man, towering over Char and Marjorie, while screaming something about them getting into his buisness, so natrually, Mia decided to step in. After that everything goes down stairs.
For Mia the next few minutes are a blur.
She tries to calm the man down which causes him to freaking push her out of the way and storm out with his kid.Having not expected him to react so violently and be so strong, she stumbels in her heals, rolls her ankle and hits her head pretty badly on the wall behind her. Hearing Char scream something, as her vision goes dark.
Char had a really bad day at work, the kids were much more unruly than normal and she really had her hands full. She was glad that her shift is almost over and that Mia would pick her up today. They had a date night, with candlelight dinner and a night ride alonge the coast planned, she just couldn’t wait.
Smiling at the thought she turns to the remaining child. Chris. She had to tell his mother at drop of that his father was always late with collecting him, and they had to put some late fees on their bill. She really wasn't amused, and told them she would sort it out.
Her smile soon falters when she hears Chris's dad come into the nursery. Almost immediatly starting to tear into her. Luckily Marjorie is in the room with her, trying to get him to calm down as well, but he just wouldn't stop yelling, that is the point where Mia enters the building, probably having heard him scream from the car park.
She tries to talk him down and it seems as it is working, before he just grunts, shoves her out of the way and leaves with Chris in tow.
Everything after that happens in slow motion for Charlotte. She sees Mia stumble, having clearly not expected him to react that way, before falling backwards into the wall, where her head hits the concrete wall with a dull thud, and she slowly goes down, her head hanging limply to the side and her eyes fluttering close.
"MIA! OH MY GOSH! MARJORIE CALL AN AMBULANCE!" Charlotte hears herself scream, as she rushes to her girlfriend. Trying to get her to open her eyes.
Luckily after a few seconds Mia stirs, blinking slighlty before hissing, as her eyes take in the brightness from the room around her. Char positions herself better, so the light isn't directly in her eyes anymore.
"Hey, Mia can you hear me? How are you feeling?""Char? Ow....what happend?" Mia mumbles, reaching for her head in confusion.
Char takes her hands into her own:" Don't move baby, you've got thrown into a wall. Help is on the way, you are going to be fine""I got what? No it's fine, I'm fine.": Mia mumbles as she tries to get off the ground, only to let out a yelp in pain as she puts weight on her right ankle. Char is there in a second, carefully guiding her back down on the ground.
"You are clearly not fine. You need to go to the hospital, I will be there with you the whole time, I promise." Char tries to calm her down.
"Okay fine...but please don't leave me alone" Char never heard Mia sound so small and scared before. Her heart breaks for her. Just as she is about to reassure Mia again the doors to the nursery open and a few paramedics rush to them, pushing Char out of the way to asses Mia.
After a few minutes they take her into the ambulance to drive to the hospital, with probably a concussion and a sprained ankle. Char is allowed to ride with them. Marjorie stayed back to clean and lock everything up, asking Char to send them updates as soon as she knows more. She sounds a little bit worried about Mia, Char realises.
