Reece had spent the whole day thinking about Isadora. It wasn't just that she looked similar to his once best friend, but the gut feeling that she is important somehow. Like he knew her.

He opened his phone to see a new notification from Autumn. A picture of her and her sweet girl sleeping in her arms.
"Hey," catching the attention of Marjorie, he showed her the photo.
"Awww. Autumn looks really happy, I'm glad" she smiles,
"Me too" Reece looked back at his phone and Marjorie noticed something was off.

"Are you alright my darling?"
"Yeah. She looks a lot like..." the man stopped himself,
"Your mum?" He nodded.
"Do you want to talk about her?"
"There's nothing to say" he replied.

Reece never really opened up about his feelings, however there was a time where he had talked to Charlotte.
"Her birthday is today isn't it?"
"Yeah. Not like it matters"
"It's okay to think about her Reece. And even miss her. She's your mum"
"She doesn't mean anything to me. Not anymore" Marjorie nods. She knows there is more to it that he's thinking about, but would never pressure him to talk.

She decided it would be better to lighten the mood, and knew exactly what he needed,
"Wanna watch mean girls?" She smiled, gaming a look from him,
"7up and Doritos?" Marjorie nods and Reece lets out a smile.

Months ago before the couple were official, Marjorie had decided to give Reece a chance. Their 'casual' date was made up of 7up and Doritos at Marjorie's home. She then discovered Reece's love of the movie Mean Girls on another date, which she adored about him.

Now, months into their relationship the two had made 7up, Doritos and Mean Girls their own thing. A symbolic moment of their relationship.

...

Isadora sits at her desk with her laptop open, the FaceTime app open.
"Hey mum, how are you?"
"Good thank you darling, how are you getting on?" The woman asks,
"Great, where's dad?"
"Oh he's out shopping. Can I pass on a message?"
"Oh no, I spoke to him the other day, I just wanted to see how you were too"
"Getting old my dear. But I'm quite alright. Will you be coming home soon?" She asks,
"I'll visit soon I promise"
"I don't have forever my dear, remember that"
"Mum don't say things like that" the older lady laughs. Isadora's mother was a lot more laidback than her father. Isadora considered asking her about the Knights, without her father there.

"Mum can I ask you something?"
"What's in your mind?"
"It's about dad. He was so fixed on me not getting the job at this particular nursery. When I did I know it annoyed him and then he is so serious about me not getting involved with the owner or his kids. I don't understand why"
"Your father is not someone to argue with my dear, but remind my old brain, who is it you're working for?"
"Roger knight" the woman thought for a moment before remembering her husband's recent words of warning. 'Isadora is a curious girl. We can't let her find out, remember that darling'

"Oh, yes, your father knew him along time ago" she told her
"What happened?"
"You should really speak to your father dear"
"Dad won't tell me anything. Only to make sure they don't know who you guys are"
"And you shall listen to him Isadora. Your father knows best, don't argue with him"

Isadora sighed, she wasn't going to get anywhere with this.
"Forget about it my darling, okay?"
"Okay. I should go, goodnight mum"
"Goodnight dear" Isadora shuts her laptop but she couldn't just forget it. There was something going on. Could she really just leave it?

...

Early the next morning, Isadora was walking the halls. She had tried to forget about the weirdness of her father and the Knight family. But it still sat in the back of her mind.
