Perfectly Wrong

Stephie

The day had finally arrived. My wedding day. It still felt surreal, like a dream I could wake up from at any second, but here I was, standing in front of a mirror in a white dress that somehow felt both foreign and perfectly right all at once. I took a deep breath, smoothing my hands over the fabric, and glanced at the clock. It was almost time.

There was a knock on the door, and before I could say "come in," Rossi stepped in, dressed in a suit that probably cost more than my apartment's rent. He looked me up and down, his eyes softening.

"You ready, kid?" he asked, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

I turned to him, my nerves suddenly replaced with excitement. "More than ready."

He stepped closer, holding out his arm. "Good. Because it's my job to walk you down that aisle."

I laughed softly, touched by how much he cared. "Rossi, you don't have to—"

"Yes, I do," he interrupted, his tone leaving no room for argument. "You're family, Steph. And I wouldn't miss this for the world."

Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, but I blinked them away, not wanting to ruin my makeup. "Thank you," I whispered, taking his arm. He squeezed my hand in response, and suddenly, the nerves were back, but in the best way.

We made our way to the small garden where the ceremony was taking place. It was a simple setup, just like we'd wanted—intimate, with only a few close friends and family members in attendance. As we reached the entrance, I paused, my heart racing in my chest.

Then I saw Spencer, standing at the end of the aisle, looking as nervous as I felt. He fidgeted slightly, shifting his weight from foot to foot, but when his eyes found mine, a smile broke out on his face, and suddenly, nothing else mattered.

I took a deep breath, my grip on Rossi's arm tightening as we began the walk. The world seemed to blur around me as I focused on Spencer, on the way his eyes lit up when he saw me. And then, out of the corner of my eye, I caught a familiar face in the crowd.

Diana.

I stopped for a split second, my breath catching in my throat. Spencer had flown his mom out here? I hadn't known she was coming. The sight of her made my heart swell even more, and I had to fight back the tears that threatened to spill over.

"You okay?" Rossi whispered, noticing my hesitation.

I nodded quickly, smiling through the tears. "Yeah, I just... I didn't know Spencer's mom would be here."

Rossi chuckled softly. "That boy loves you. He wanted this day to be perfect for you."

I blinked away the tears and focused on Spencer again. This day was already perfect, and it hadn't even begun.

When we reached the end of the aisle, Rossi leaned in and whispered, "You got this," before stepping aside, leaving me standing in front of Spencer. His hands were trembling slightly as he reached out to take mine, but his smile was steady, and his eyes... his eyes were full of love.

"Hi," I whispered, my voice shaky but filled with joy.

"Hi," he whispered back, his voice barely above a breath. He glanced over at his mom, then back at me, his smile growing wider. "Surprise."

I grinned, shaking my head in disbelief. "You're full of surprises today, Spencer Reid."

The officiant cleared his throat, bringing us back to the moment. As the ceremony began, I barely heard the words being spoken. All I could focus on was Spencer—how his hand fit perfectly in mine, how his nervous energy had settled into something softer, more certain, and how his love for me radiated through every glance and touch.
