~y/n pov~

The next few weeks after the announcement was very different and took some time to adjust to. I had gone viral, gained many new followers, and everyone was talking about the new movie. But the most weirdest one was everyone's reaction at school.

Everyone now knew who I was and I would get looks when I walked around school. People would ask me questions about the film and ask to meet up with the cast. The weirdest question I got was if I could give the person a strand of Chris Evan's hair.

But even though everyone wanted to talk to me and knew me, no one went out of their way to become my friend. Like, everyone liked me, but perhaps they were intimidated? No kidding, some people tried, like those annoying girls in my class. But I shot them down immediately. I want someone who wants me for me, not because of all this newfound fame.

I mean, last term those same girls had found some clips of me in movies and were posting it all around school, mocking me, saying I'll never make it far. Well, look where we are now. But what stung the most was that girl that I was sort-of friends with acted really different around me, all she did was ask about the movie and if she could meet the cast. Then when I said I don't know, she went cold to me and stopped talking to me. So now I feel even more alone.

I was sitting in homeroom on a Monday, three weeks after comic con. The teacher droned on about notices that didn't concern me. Not that they ever did.

"Alright class listen up. We got a new kid joining us today, so please welcome him into this lovely school with open arms." the teacher said. Just then a boy spat a spitball to the front of the class. Everyone burst out laughing as the teacher kicked the kid out.

"Class, settle down. That is an example of what not to do, alright? Oh that must be him now." the teacher said. The kid walked into class. He had brown hair and matching brown eyes.

"Alright, class this is Carlos James. Make him feel welcome. You can go sit next to. . . oh there's a free seat next to y/n. Y/n put your hand up."

Um actually I like being alone. I sit in the corner so there's no one on my left and up until now no one on my right. But he came and sat down next to me.

"Hi y/n, I'm Carlos." he said as he put down his stuff.

"I heard." I didn't mean to be cold but I couldn't help it.
"Wait a minute. You're y/n y/l/n right?" Damn. Lasted less then a minute.

"Yes I am." I said in a monotone voice.

"That's cool. So, what class is next?" he asked. I was a bit surprised.

"Wait you don't want to ask any questions?" I asked. He looked at me confused.

"No, I figured you're sick of hearing people badger you. Unless you want me to?"

"No, you're right. I guess I wasn't expecting it. Thanks." I said.

"It's all good. So anyways, what classes do we have today?" he asked. We began to talk and he seemed really nice. Maybe he won't be too bad.

~time skip to lunch~

"Alright my turn. Um ... Dc or marvel." Carlos asked as we walked around the school. We were just asking each other questions to get to know each other. I looked at him with one eyebrow raised.

"You're really asking me that?" I asked laughing and he joined in.

"I'm running out of ideas on what to say!" He managed to get out.

"Alright alright marvel forever, what about you? If you say DC..." I said trying to give him my best death stare but failed.

"Marvel 100 percent. I know you don't like to talk about it, but I'm so jealous of you."

"It's alright if you ask, I don't mind you asking." I said smiling. Carlos' face relaxed and he smiled back at me. "Ok thanks. But on a different topic, how on earth do you raise one eyebrow?" He asked.

I looked at him with one eyebrow raised. "You mean like this?"

Carlos started trying but failed, just making weird faces and I burst out laughing. He looked at me and joined in to the point we were clutching our stomachs, ignoring the weird looks from everyone else. It was just us in the moment.
