(Josh)
The movie credits start and my mom turns down the volume. Everyone seems to wake up from the dead, stretching, talking, turning on the lights. Since we're only spending two days in Kentucky we decided to stay with her parents one day and then mine. "I'm gonna go change." Jennifer says, sitting up. "Okay, I'll change now too then." I get up and fold the blanket we were laying with. I follow her upstairs, carrying the blanket with me. I throw it on the bed once we get to my room and unzip my suitcase. Jennifer walks into the bathroom with her suitcase as I get changed into a pair of black pants and a black button up shirt. I consider putting on a tie, but decide against it. I have no idea what Jen will be wearing or how formal it will be. I walk back downstairs assuming that it will take her a while to finish getting ready.
As I wait by the stairs for Jen, my mom approaches me. "You look nice." She notices. She knows we're going out to dinner since she'll be watching Ava. "Thanks." She follows my gaze to the stairs. "So, I guess everything worked out okay?" She asks, remembering our phone conversation. "Yeah. More than okay, actually." I tell her, smiling. She looks at me questioningly. "I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tell you this, but she's pregnant again." Her jaw drops as she stares at me. "Seriously?" I nod. "How far along is she?" I have to think about that for a while, how long ago did she tell me? "Only like two months." I say. Then before she can say anything the stair case creaks attracting my attention.
She walks down the steps slowly, holding her dress up with one hand. I'm in awe starring at her. "You like it?" She asks, once she reaches the bottom of the stairs. "I love it." It's dark green with spaghetti straps and cutout on one leg. She giggles, stepping closer to me. She's wearing high heels too, making her way taller than me. She kisses me, quickly, then takes a step back. "You look lovely, Jennifer." My mom says, making me remember she's still here. "Thank you." Jennifer says. "Oh and Josh told me about the baby. Congratulations!" By the look on Jennifer's face I can tell I wasn't supposed to say anything. "Josh? You weren't supposed to tell anyone! I wanted to tell my parents first." She turns to me. "Sorry." I apologize.
We get into the car and she pulls her phone out, dialing a number. "What are you doing?" I ask, starting the car. "I have to call my mom." She explains, looking at me. "Hey, mom. I need to tell you something." I start driving, trying to focus on the road as Jennifer talks to her mom. "Yeah...thanks mom." She laughs, distracting me from the road. She has such an adorable laugh. "No, We're in the car right now." She laughs extremely loud, making me jump. I have no idea what her mom said but it must've been funny. "We're in the car driving somewhere!" She corrects herself, trying to stop laughing. "We're going out to eat." She leans up against the window, holding herself up with one arm. "Yeah." She giggles, looking at me. "Okay....bye." She hangs up the phone and scratches her face. "What was that about?" I ask, glancing at her before looking back to the road. "Nothing." She says, sitting back up.
We pull into the restaurant and get out. I grab her hand and lead her into the restaurant. "Is it just you two?" The waiter asks. "Yes." Jennifer answers him before I can. He leads us to a table in the very back and hands us the menus. "Do you know what you want to drink?" I look at Jennifer so she can answer first. "I'd like some dr.pepper." She smiles at him, before looking back at her menu. "I want the same as her." He writes that down and walks away. "So... I've been thinking about it and I think that if-" she closes the menu and sets it down. "You wanted to... After we're done with mocking jay promotion and everything we could move to Kentucky. You know, since we're going to have two kids now and It would be nice to be closer to our family." The waiter returns with our drinks and sets them down, interrupting our conversation. "Are you two ready to order?" He asks. We both look up at him. "I think we need a few more minutes." Jennifer tells him. He walks away and I turn back to her. She takes a sip of her drink through her straw and back at me. "I think that sounds great." She smiles, making me instantly smile too. "Really?" She sets her drink down and reaches across the table, grabbing my hand. "Yeah. I think it would be good being closer to our parents." I say. She holds my hand, twisting my ring around my finger.
A/N: Sorry it's been so long! I have a lot of other stuff I'm doing right now. But I was also thinking while I do have a good idea for a new joshifer fanfic I don't really think I wanna do a new one since I've put so much work into this one and everything so I might try to make a third book for this series? If you guys want and I'll probably also do some one shots just for fun. What do you think? Also what did you think of this chapter? I'm sorry if it wasn't very good I've been kinda having some writers block and stuff.
