Alix's POV"And that's P3, Alix" Kai said through the radio. "What's the order?" I asked.
"Lando, Max, and then you" he simply said. He knew I wasn't gonna be happy with that and I definitely wasn't.
For once I couldn't care less that Max qualified in front of me, but I hated that Lando was on pole.
I wanted to ignore him as we both took our helmets off. He was standing next to me, looking at me with a smirk as he drank from his water.
"Don't look at me" I mumbled. "Why? It must hurt to know I beat you even though you know all my secrets" he said way too calm.
"Maybe you have to teach me how you do your starts" I said as I fixed my hair. "You always do them so incredibly good"
That definitely hit somewhere different, because the smile on his face disappeared.
He put the bottle of water down and walked up to the journalist who was doing the interview and passed Max, who stood back next to me.
"That's what happens when you make a deal with the devil" Max whispered as he kept looking at Lando.
Yes he definitely was the devil in my story.
I didn't look or talk to Lando after we did the interviews after qualifying, but we still had to do the media pen interviews.
I walked with Carley to the media pen, she was busy typing something on her phone as Lando and his PR manager walked to the pen as well.
She never seemed busy when she was around him. They were always talking and laughing with each other.
His eyes stayed on her, and as he looked at her, he took a bite of an apple.
Why was he so obsessed with apples lately?
The journalists asked a bit of the same questions every time.
About the car, which was surprisingly a lot faster - not really surprising to me though.
Or about my relationship with Max, if I liked being his teammate - which I did.
And then of course about Lando. If I believed he could be world champion this year - which I also did, but I wasn't gonna admit that.
I would rather choke on one of his apples.
Vanna and Ryle flew over to support me during this race weekend and I couldn't be happier about that.
Of course James came too, we gave our relationship another chance, after I got my heart broken by Lando.
He was trying to heal it again. Not an easy task if you ask me. Lando definitely left his mark. His love was the kind of love you don't easily forget.
Even if it was all fake.
"Who's that?" Kai nodded his chin at Lando's PR manager when they walked passed our hospitality. "His new PR manager so it seems" I answered.
"She's cute" he muttered, and kept staring at her.
I frowned as I looked at him and back at her. Maybe this was exactly what I needed.
It would annoy him so much to see her, his PR manager, with one of my friends.
He wouldn't trust her anymore, he would be annoyed and I could definitely need that because I wanted to beat him in the championship.
"She's Vanna's sister and she told her that she thinks you're cute" I said.
But he just frowned at that. "Really? She didn't really seem to like me though"
"She was probably just nervous or trying to play hard to get" I shrugged. "I will ask Vanna to put in a good word for you"
"Thanks Alix" he smiled, looked at her one more time and nudged me. "Let's go, we need to go over the statistics"
The statistics on how to beat Lando, I would always be prepared to listen to that.
