I walked with Carley in the media pen, we were pretty late, Max was late as well.
But Lando wasn't, he was already talking to a journalist.
But Scarlett wasn't standing next to him. She was standing next to Oscar. She asked to switch drivers. She obviously didn't want to talk to Lando anymore.
It actually made me happy.
She was completely done with him, but he didn't look done with her.
He probably thought no one noticed it, but I definitely did.
His eyes kept wandering to her, with every question he answered, he looked at her.
I walked up next to him, to block his view and smiled.
Instead of looking at Scarlett, he now looked at me. For only a few seconds before looking back at the journalist.
I answered a few questions about the car before Lando left the media pen. Unfortunately because I arrived late, he left earlier than I did.
"We heard a few rumors about Lando and you, can you tell me something about that?" The journalist asked.
"Well yeah we like each other, we always did but I think we realized it a couple of weeks ago" I smiled.
"So will we have a paddock couple?" The journalist looked excited about that, which definitely made me like her.
"Hopefully yeah" I said before Carley nudged me.
We walked away after that interview and Carley definitely didn't seem too pleased.
"That wasn't smart" Carley said as we walked back to the hospitality. "That was actually very dumb"
"Why?"
"Why? Because now everyone will write an article about how you are dating Lando and you are not"
Not yet.
"And Zak will make a big deal out of this" Carley added.
I shrugged. Zak made a big deal out of everything so it wasn't really that much of an issue.
"Are the rumors true though? Did he cheat on Scarlett with you?"
"He did"
She shook her head at that, clearly disappointed, probably in both of us.
"I always thought he looked like a fuckboy but was a sweet, good guy inside" Carley sighed. "I guess I was wrong"
"Guess so" I muttered.
He was a good guy though.

I had dinner with Ryle later that day. I tried asking him several times why he loves Vanna that much.
What did these guys see in those sisters?
Lando couldn't keep his eyes off Scarlett, even after they broke up and Ryle was completely smitten by Vanna.
I just didn't understand.
He just said I would understand once I found a guy I truly loved, that you couldn't put it in words.
Well I found that guy. Lando was that guy for me, obviously.
I wanted to go back to my room half an hour ago, but he ordered coffee, ordered dessert. I was done with this.
So I finally returned back to my hotel after he stopped ordering stuff.
I walked in and saw someone sitting in the reception area.
Someone I recognized immediately.
Lando.
Was he waiting for me?
"L-Lando?" I stuttered as I walked up to him. "Alix, hi" he got up, looked around before looking back at me.
"What are you doing here?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to have a drink with me?" He smiled, but it seemed as if he really had to force himself to smile.
"Sure, but not at the bar, let's go to my room" I said, already walking to the elevator.
He quickly followed me "Or-let's not have a drink" he said, putting his hand on the wall. "Let's go for a walk"
"A walk?" I frowned. "Why?"
"Maybe you were right, maybe I didn't realize it" he leaned against the wall next to the elevator. "Maybe I do like you"
I instantly smiled. "You are right, let's go for a walk"
"Awesome" he smiled, put his hand on my back but he barely touched me. He was guiding me outside.
I knew he liked me. I always knew he did. He literally waited for me, waited until I got back from dinner.
Just to ask me on a walk.
He was a good guy after all. Just not for Scarlett.
