It's been a few days and Scarlett was still sick. She has been sick for 3 days now, which wasn't that unusual but it still kinda worried me.I shouldn't be worried, it was just a normal fever, or a stomach bug. Nothing unusual about it.
She stayed in Monaco, in my apartment, told Vanna to take care of her while I went to the next race.
Alone, without Scarlett. It's been a while since I went alone - since Scarlett wasn't by my side.
"All alone this weekend?" Kai asked as he walked in the paddock next to me. "Scarlett is sick, she stayed in Monaco"
"Hopefully nothing too bad?" He asked, as if he really was concerned and to be honest, maybe he was. I always liked Kai - but he clearly liked my girlfriend.
You must be blind if you didn't see that.
But I always thought he liked Alix a little too - guess we really had the same type.
"Good morning" Alix said as she walked in the paddock behind us. She was smiling, seemed actually happy.
I didn't saw her like this for a long time.
"Morning" Kai and I both said at the same time.
"I heard Scarlett is feeling sick, I hope she's alright" she said as she looked at me.
"How did you know she was sick?" I frowned. "Ryle told me, said Vanna had to stay with her"
Yeah okay that made sense.
"You wanna go out for a walk or a drink after media day?" She asked, casually, as if nothing happened between us.
"Um-I don't think that's a good idea"
"Okay I understand it, don't worry" she smiled before walking to her hospitality with Kai next to her.
Who was she? And why was she acting so differently? Why was she actually being.. nice?
Anyways, since Scarlett was sick, I unfortunately had to settle down with another PR assistant. She was alright but she didn't yawn at questions like Scarlett would.
I couldn't tease her, couldn't secretly brush my fingers against hers.
God, I already missed her.I did my interviews quickly, fortunately I had a pretty empty schedule - since Scarlett wasn't here I only needed to do the necessary things.
I wanted to grab my stuff, go back to my hotel and call Scarlett. I haven't heard from her all day - which was weird.
But I haven't heard from Vanna either, so I guess everything was fine. She would call me if something happened.
"The racing director wants to talk to you" Zak said all casually, as if I had to go to the racing director every day.
Fair enough, lately I've been to his office more often than before, might have something to do with his daughter though.
She liked pushing the boundaries during races and qualifying, hell even during practices.
And to be honest, I didn't back down either.
"Why? It's only media day and I didn't swear, why does he want to see me?" I asked.
"I don't know Lando - we just got an email" he waved it off before walking out.
I sighed, grabbed my cap and put it on while walking through the paddock.
I didn't know what this man wanted, but he had no reason to call me in his office.
I didn't do anything wrong.
I knocked two times and opened the door slowly, it was dark in here, too dark.
Why did he call me to his office if he wasn't even here?
"Hello Lando"
