Scarlett's POV

I decided to wait for Lando, wanted to be there when he got back from the stewards office.

Zak cancelled all remaining interviews so I knew it wouldn't be good news.

I bet they weren't gonna give Alix a penalty.

Typical decision of the FIA.

I got changed into my normal clothes, because most of the time I wore the Mclaren teamkit but I couldn't pull off papaya orange like Lando did.

No one really could.

I walked into the hospitality again and spotted Lando sitting on a table, his head leaning in his hand.

He was looking down, at his bottle of water.

Just.. staring.

As if he was lost in his thoughts.

"Apple?" I said as I held an apple in front of him.

"I said I don't nee-" he looked up, turned his face to me. His eyes glared over my face, eyes, lips, down at my body and he grabbed the apple out of my hand. "Thanks"

"So they didn't give a penalty?" I asked.

"Oh they did" he said, biting in his apple.

"Then why are you sad?"

"I am not sad" he put the apple down with a sigh. "I am frustrated"

"Why?"

He looked back at me, grabbed his apple again and quickly took a bite from it. "Different reasons"

"Tell me one truth and two lies" I looked at him, maybe it would be easier for him to tell me something when he thought it was a game.

"I like apples" he looked at me. "I am still in love with Alix" he said a bit softer. "My greatest regret is loving the wrong person"

Okay wow, I actually couldn't spot the truth. It had to be the apples, right? But also, he clearly looked as if he was still in love with Alix.

"Alright" I mumbled. "Did you put the difficulty level at hard or something?"

He snorted. "Well maybe I just don't want you to spot the truth"

"Why not?"

He looked at me, took another bite of the apple and put it down on the table. "Different reasons"

He got up, looked at me one last time. "By the way, you fumbled your dare"

"I still have one more race weekend" I shrugged. As if I was gonna find someone to kiss in one weekend.

He chuckled. "Good luck with that, Red"

"Otherwise I will just kiss you" I yelled after him, didn't even think we were in the hospitality, but fortunately most people already left anyways.

He looked back at me, with a smile on his face. "Then I hope you don't find anyone to kiss you"

And with that, he walked out.

Leaving me sitting in the hospitality, alone and pretty confused.

Did I hear him right or was he just joking?

Probably.

He was still in love with Alix. That was his truth.

He probably didn't play the game honestly. There was no way he didn't like apples when he ate them all the time.

I looked at the apple he left on the table. He only took a couple of bites out of it. He never completely ate them.

Weird.

I was gonna take away all the apples in this damn hospitality next weekend.

I was curious to see how he was gonna act when he couldn't eat them.
