8. The Mystical Morning

After stocking up the groceries properly in their respective containers and shelves, Alexandra put on a movie and sat on the couch. She didn't even know what movie she put on and she wasn't paying attention to it as her mind was replaying the whole day and she fell asleep on the couch eventually.

The soft chirping of the birds woke her up from her slumber. Being an early bird, no matter how late she sleeps, she would wake up sharply at 6:30. She sat up on the couch, rubbing her eyes, and she noticed the TV still on. Taking the remote from the coffee table, she turned the TV off and rested her head on the couch, leaning back and breathing in softly with closed eyes. When she was thinking about getting ready for work, her brain slapped the events of the last night in front of her eyes, they snapped open and she got up from the couch.

Reaching upstairs, she knocked on the door of the two new guests. No sound or any answer came from the inside. She placed her hand on the knob and was about to open the door when she heard Dawne's voice from outside.

"Are you ready?"

She turned and went down. Opening the front door, she saw Dawne and Olee near the tree. Dawne was standing there, shirtless, with an apple in his right hand, taking a bite and his other hand was holding a knife, aiming at Olee. He was casually throwing the knife at him but he wasn't aiming at the monkey but at the apple on his head. The small silver knife flew towards the apple and hitting it, it fell off Olee's head.

Alexandra's eyes went wide at their 'casual' morning activity. Dawne gave a victorious smirk and took another bite of the apple casually. She stepped down the front porch steps and walked towards them with her mouth agape. Dawne saw her coming and his eyes brightened and showed so much joy at the sight of her. That big smile automatically dawned on his face.

"Hey, Xandra! Good morning!", he greeted with a mouthful. Olee looked up from the apple that he was so lovingly munching on. His cute eyes twinkled when he saw the woman coming.

She didn't reply to him but just pointed at Olee and with a serious voice and look, she asked Dawne, "What are you doing?"

His smile faltered at her sudden change. He opened his mouth and closed it but opened it again to answer with a shrug, "We are just playing."

He gave a smile in hopes she would smile back but she just frowned and asked again, "You call throwing a knife at him 'playing'?"

Dawne realized the reason for her seriousness and he stepped towards her but she turned towards Olee and knelt in front of him. "Are you okay?"

Olee nodded in response, touched her hand, and grinned cutely. Alexandra couldn't help but smile immediately at his adorable smile. But that didn't last long when her eyes caught a few daggers on the ground behind Olee. She immediately got up and looked at Dawne, who was now standing very close to her, that her body almost hit him. His musk scent hitting her nose, stopped her for a second and she took notice of the tattoos on his shoulders, neck, chest, left hand's bicep, and forearm. His muscles and abs made him look like a sculpture made by god when he was in love. Her cheeks showed a tint of red but she decided to break out of it and she asked turning around, pointing towards the knives on the ground, "W-What are these? Are you playing with knives?"

Dawne stepped beside her to look at her face, "Yes, darli-"

"What if you hurt him? You know this is dangerous, right?", she cut him off with a worried question. His features softened and he smiled again before answering, "I won't miss my targets, dear. If that's what you are afraid of."

Shaking her head, she picked up all of the daggers. Nearly, ten daggers were there, and picking up the last one, she inspected it closely. It was beautifully carved and weighed so light. It was a silver dagger with a blue stone in the middle of the hilt. "Where did you get these?", she asked in a very curious voice, without looking at him.
