Another short chapter, sorry.

As the battle raged below, Jessica hovered in the air, her heart heavy with a sense of failure. She had witnessed Viper and Taskmaster escape with Aunt May, and despite her best efforts, it felt as though she had let everyone down. The weight of the moment pressed down on her, and for a brief second, she felt lost amidst the chaos surrounding her.

Jessica's mind raced with thoughts of what could have been different. 'If only I had been faster… if only I had seen a way through that smoke,' she lamented. The frustration bubbled up inside her as she recalled the missed opportunity to save her aunt. She looked down at her siblings, fighting valiantly against Crossbones, and felt a wave of helplessness wash over her.

The sounds of battle echoed around her, but all she could hear was the voice of self-doubt whispering in her ear. 'You let them escape. You let Aunt May down.'

But as she watched Kaine and Ben working together, their determination evident in every move they made, something inside her began to shift. She remembered why they fought: for family, for love, and for the people they cared about. Their bond was stronger than any moment of despair.

Taking a deep breath, Jessica closed her eyes for a moment, centering herself. 'I can’t let this define me. I need to be there for my family,' she thought, feeling the energy of her venom-blast surging within her.

Just then, she noticed Kaine getting shoved back by Crossbones, who was regaining his footing. “I can’t let them take him down!” Jessica thought, her resolve hardening. She descended from the air, ready to unleash her powers with a newfound purpose.

“I’m coming in!” she yelled, aiming her venom-blast at Crossbones. “This ends now!” With a surge of energy, she launched herself into the fight, ready to support her brothers and turn the tide.

As she joined the battle, the despair that had threatened to hold her back began to fade. The Spiders were a team, and together, they could overcome any obstacle. With each powerful strike and coordinated attack, Jessica felt her confidence returning, bolstered by the strength of her family.

They might have lost the opportunity to save Aunt May at that moment, but they would not lose the fight. Together, they would find a way to track down Viper and Taskmaster.

As she landed beside Kaine and Ben, Petra stood at the edge of the fight, her heart heavy with the realization that they had failed to save Aunt May. Anger and frustration coursed through her as she watched Crossbones continue to clash with her brothers. This was the man who had stood in their way, and her resolve hardened.

“Enough is enough!” Petra growled, her hands crackling with venom-blast. She focused her energy, coating her fists in a brilliant glow. The sight of Crossbones taunting her brothers ignited a fire within her. “I won’t let him get away with this!”
