Jaden and I agreed not to mention what happened on the cruise to my parents and we swore to never speak of it again. I am so glad Jaden's lip healed, and only a little cut was only visible. Me, on the other hand, I had bruises on my back and arms, but I was careful of my parents not seeing those. They barely hurt anymore, but they are clearly visibly different from my skin color.
"Chloe and Jaden," My mom called from the bottom of the stairs, "Dinner Time."
"Coming." Jaden and I yelled at the same time.
"Remember." Jaden reminded me one last time as he got up from my desk, opened my door, and left to go downstairs. I sighed as I opened up my purse. I took the letter that was addressed to Aaron Docks. It was thick due to how much I wrote. While I was under room arrest, I had a lot of time on my hand. I heard a knock on my door. I looked up to see my mom in the doorway.
"Chloe, aren't you hungry?" She questioned with worried eyes. I was surprised my mom cared all of a sudden, so I decided to tell her. Just as I opened my mouth to speak, a cell phone began ringing. She held up her finger, and answered it,
"Hello?"
I just waited as she nodded her head and said a lot of "mhhm". I just sighed as she began to walk down the hall until I heard her voice fade until I could no longer hear it. I sighed as I put the letter under my pillow. I climbed down the steps carefully. They were not carpeted like my old house, so I was scared to fall. This house was a little bit bigger than my old house, but not much. Although, this house has a pool, and yet again a lake except apparently, there is an alligator here, so I can't sit directly on the grass in front of the lake like I used to.
"Chloe?" I snapped out of my thoughts, and jumped when I saw Jaden's face sitting inches away from mine. I grabbed my chest as I tried to calm my heart beating down.
"Jaden, you really-" I was cut off by my mom's voice.
"Dinner time!" I looked down to where I was sitting and that was in the living room. I wonder how I got here. I walked to the dinner table which was literally 20 steps away. I sat down, and was about to speak once again, until my mom's phone rang. She went to her room, and shut the door for who knows how long this time. I sighed as I tried to keep the tears back. I never get to see my parents, and I just got back from a week's long cruise. It makes me question about how much they love me.
"Well, it's just you and me kid," Jaden smiled genuniely at me. I just gave him a small smile as I rubbed the bottom of my eyes. We began to eat, talk, and laugh. Jaden was more like a brother than a cousin to me. I will be sad when he leaves back to Chicago. It won't be until sometime August, but still sad.

"Hi Ms. Malison. Sorry I am late." I heard some girl say in a rush as she fixed her long brown hair, and smoothed down her clothes. She opened her large Coach bag and took out a yellow folder. I have no idea why I was watching this girl, but I guess I was just nervous about my first day at this school. I didn't even know how to dress, so I decided to wear a loose black off the shoulder t-shirt with a white tank top underneath, dark blue skinny jeans, and black converses. I wore a long chain with a big heart pendant and a key along with a few bangles on my right hand. As usual, I wore my Guess watch on my left hand and my diamond ring from my parents on my left ring finger. I wore only mascara, foundation, natural eye shadow, and chapstick. "Chloe Dawson?"
I look up to see the girl looking at the secetary, Ms. Malison. I cleared my throat as I grabbed my Guess tote bag that was sitting in the chair next to me. I spoke up shyly as I clutched my purse's handles tightly that was now sitting on my shoulder, "That's me."
I saw the girl turn around, and smile at me politely, too politely for my liking. All of a sudden, she exclaims, "Hi! Nice to meet you. My name is Augustina and I will be with you all day today! Well, first I will be giving you a tour before most of the students arrive. All of our classes are together. Do you have any questions?"
