Monday sat on the floor just infront of the sofa making her live video on one of her make-up tutorials. "So that is it for today fellas, see you when I see you again. Byeee, love u", she said and ended her shot when Praise entered looking terrible. She sat on the sofa resting her head on the edge.
" How did it go PM?", Monday asked.
"Adwoah, it went a bit good and a bit bad", she stated.
"How? Explain it cause I don't get u"
"Well..", she began with a loud sigh and narrated all that had happened.
"Girl, that wasn't bad right. You did what u have to do the only problem is the coffee thing but don't worry about it. I don't think the almighty Kelvin Corbett will have a beef with u over just some expensive suit. If that happens then he's really not god of money. Cause those people usually do not care.
"I hope he thinks so but I'm only counting on his assistant, I mean his vice cause he was very good to me "
"You've got nothing to worry about ok, just get your rosary and ask Jesus for help through Mary", she teased and left to the kitchen. Praise smiled at her half joke and laid in the sofa.
"Praise,PM get up", praise felt a light tap on her shoulders and opened her eyes. "Did I dose off here?", She asked startled.
"You slept here girl", Monday laughed. "Guess u returned tired that's why"
"Yes, maybe"
"Alright, supper is ready. Go take your bath and join me on the table".
"Yes mom", praise said and hurried off to her room.
She quickly took her bath and returned in pyjamas
"Have u called your mom?", Monday asked as Praise took her seat and began to serve herself.
"No, I want to call her when I get the job so that she won't have to worry about me"
"Ok, what are you gonna do about her treatment?
"I want to get the job first and use my first 3 months salary for the start"
"Good, tell me if I could help u with anything ok"
"You've done enough for me already Monday. Am so grateful"
"You don't have to be ok, you and your mom have helped me and my brother before, remember"
"Sure, thanks bud"
"Alright, shut up and eat before the food gets cold".
They ate in silence and bid each other good night before going to sleep.
Praise was awaken by the numerous notification sounds her phone was making. Annoyed and frustrated, she got up from her bed and took her phone. She saw an email message from CC and quickly opened it.
Congratulations Miss Praise Mariscal. You have been given the job as the deputy designer for Corbett's Designing Company. Please visit out website and fill in the employees' form, there you'd be notified on when to start working.
Praise jumped out of her bed and screamed, "Adwoaaaaaaah!"
Adwoah hurried to Praise's room to find out what was wrong with her.
"Whats going on?", She asked surprised
"I got the job Baby, I've been employed!", Praised hugged her after making the announcement.
"Great, that's great news girl. We gotta celebrate this"
"Of course but I gotta fill some forms on their website".
"Good, I'll go get dressed. We are going for shopping"
"And what's that for?"
"It's for u girl, u are now a designer. U can't afford to wear those old clothes of yours.
"Thank u so much Monday, what could I have done without you"
"You can marry King Charles with your pretty face now finish with your forms"
"Mondayyyy", Praise chuckled at her words as Monday headed towards her room.
Praise filled her form at the website. They need her personal info and CV and a passport picture. Soon after she had submitted her form she received a call from an unknown number.
"Hi, is this Miss Mariscal?", A soft voice came through.
"Hi, yes please"
"Congratulations Miss Mariscal. You have been picked for the assistant designer of Corbett's Conglomerate. Please youd be starting work from tomorrow at 8am on the dot. Please don't get late cause the boss hates that.
"Yes please, thanks for informing me"
"You are welcome. That's my job. Anyways I'm Beverly Estrada, the company's secretary".
"Thanks Beverly, I'm the one who approached u at the interview"
"Ok so u are the Praise. That's great. Gotta go now Praise,see ya tomorrow"
"Ok,bye", Praise said and hanged up. She took a quick bath and dressed casually. Meanwhile Monday was waiting for her in the living room.
"You are finally here!", Monday scoffed.
"Yep, sorry for the delay",she apologized holding her ears seeing how angry Monday was.
"Cut off with this crap and let's move. Hope u picked the credit card?"
"Yes mom, here u go", she said handing over the card to her. "Great let's go", Monday said and left before Praise followed.
