First day at Corbetts

"You look lovely my darling friend just give out your best and show them that what you are", Adwoah adviced praise when she was all set and ready to go to work.
"Thanks Adwoah, don't know what I could have done without you".
"You are welcome baby, what are friends for! Now go before you are late to work on your first day."
"Of course see you at 5pm dear, bye and love you", Praise said as she left the house. Sir Wellington, her driver had just arrived infront of their apartment so she hurried inside and he sped off to the Corbetts street. As usual, she was drop a few metres away from the building as the rules suggested and she walked briskly into the building.

"Good morning Grace", praise greeted.
"Good morning Praise, glad u made it", Grace responded.
"And I'm happy to be working here with u"
"Great, well there will be a meeting on about five minutes time to introduce you to your colleagues and then you'd be shown your office after then so you'll have to stay with me untill then"
"Alright, I'll wait here", Praise answered and sat on a seat opposite Grace's desk.

"Good morning KG, how are you doing today?", Ciara asked as soon as she saw Kelvin jnr descending the stairs.
"Good morning Granny, I'm doing good and you?", Kev replied
"Awesome by God's grace. Would you mind joining as for supper today?, Ciara asked.
"Grandma I've a lot to attend to so let's make it another time"
"You have been working around the clock each day and have not thought of giving me a great grandson before I die!"
"Granny please don't say that but I already have Medori"
"There u have it my dear", Lorna intruded.
"No one called you into this mom!"

"But u just accepted Medori right now", Lorna stated as she took her seat at the dinning table while Kev poured some tea for himself.
"That's because you have rendered me no choice!"
"But you can look out for some of you wish or perhaps you need my assistance?",Ciara coaxed.
"No no no, I'll think about it Grandma"
" But u have no time my dear son, u are ageing".
"I am just 27 years old mom!"
"Old enough to give me a grand son and your granny a great grand son", Lorna smiled.
"I've heard you", Kev faked a smile as he continues to eat in peace. After a few moment of silence Lorna broke out the news to them.

"Hmm, well Medori says she will be coming to spend her 2 months vacation with us. I wish u could speed up things with her Gerald".
"I'm afraid I cannot do that mother. She is my friend, nothing more nothing less ok?", Kev roared.
"And where is she gonna stay Lorna?", Ciara asked.
"Here with us for some weeks but she'd book a hotel room for the rest of her stay here mother", Lorna smiled wickedly.
"Gotta go to work", Kev announced.
"Could you do her an honour and pick her from the airport?", Lorna asked as Kev started walking towards the door. "No please". "What about the dinner?", Ciara's voice came in. "I'll see about that Granny, bye!", He said banging the door loud enough for the 2 women to understand how angry he was.

" Don't worry mother inlaw, he'll come I'm sure about it", Lorna tapped her on the hand. " I know, now would you excused me", Ciara said and left the table in annoyance. Lorna smiled briefly to herself and continued to eat.

Kelvin arrived on time and had his secretary call all executive members to the conference room.
"Today I'd like to introduce to you all Miss Praise Mariscal", Caleb announced. "She's gonna be our deputy designer for Corbetts Accessories", he added. The members present clapped for her as praise stood on her feet waving and show her charming smiles. Praise's beauty is quite remarkable which is why everyone in her department wanted to make friends with her

. The guys were funny but very naughty and troublesome. "Miss Christable is your cheif and she would show you to your office", Caleb informed praise and introduced her to Christy as everyone calls her.
"I hope the designers department would improve since you have another hand now!", Kelvin stated and dismissed every one. "Boss please can I talk to u for a second", praise called out as soon as Kev intended to leave.

"What is it again miss Mariscal?"
"Ermm, I wanted to apologise for the other day. I'm so sorry and did not intend to ruin your dress. Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to work here as well. I promise to give out......"
"Alright I've heard you I hope u keep your promise and stay away from me as far as you can", Kev said, half yelling at her and then left the room. Praise kept her cool and took in a deep breath, exhaling with a smile.
"I'll not let you ruin my first day", she said to herself and left to the designing department.

"Fellows we have Praise in our mist, my Assistant as in vice to be precise so I'd urge you all to give her the maximum respect she deserves", Christy said. "Welcome miss Mariscal", the team cheered. Christy turned to face her and showed her every corner in the department. Finally, they arrived at her office and Christy left her there to go continue her work. Praise smiled to herself as she felt the desk with the tip of her fingers and sat on her master's chair. Her name and position written on a dark small board which is places just infront of her table.

"Welcome, Miss Praise Mariscal!", She said to herself chucking. "Oh dear God, I thank you", she prayed silently as she closed her eyes inhaling the sweet scent from the flowers places in a vase just on her right.
"Sorry to have interrupted your peace but the cheif wants you to take a look at these sketches and give her your thoughts about them", a smooth voice interrupted her prayer.
