Y/N
'Are you okay?', Cedric turns my chin towards him, 'You don't seem to be paying much attention'. He's right, I haven't been listening to a single thing he's said for the past 10 minutes. We're sat in the library and he's been trying to teach me about some kind of hex for DADA, but I haven't been able to think about anything other than Theo wanting to enter in the Triwizard.
'You can't enter the Triward if you're under 17 can you?', he gives me an odd look before speaking.
'No, the Goblet rejects the name, why?'
'Theo and his friends were saying they're going to put their names in', he looks at me with the same odd look as before, '- and I was really upset, but I've been thinking about it and I don't even know how they think they'd get away with it, none of them are old enough.'
'Well, they won't get away with it, not easily at least, he thinks for a moment before speaking again, 'I can only think of one potion that could work, and I'm not even sure it would.'
'Would they know about it?'
'Only if they payed attention during year two potions, it's called polyjuice, but it takes quite a bit of skill to prepare it and make it work properly.' I look down at my fingers, even less skin on them than the last time I took notice. Cedric speaks up again, 'Are they any good at school?'
'Theo's not really, he's bright but doesn't pay attention in class, I'm not super sure about the others, they seem to muck around a lot.'
'Well maybe they won't even think of using it, after all it was a few years ago. Plus even if they did they'd probably get three sentences into reading how to make it and decide it's not worth the trouble', he puts his hand on mine and smiles.
'Yeah, thanks Ced', I smile back.
DRACO
'Seriously, how are we gonna get our names into the goblet?', I look at the boys sitting on my bed, 'We're not old enough it'll reject us.'
Theo's eyebrows form a line across his head before he speaks, 'I was hoping you'd know, you're who I usually steal work from.'
'What about that potion we learnt a few years ago in potions?', everyone turns to Enzo, trying to remember what he's talking about, 'The one that changes what you look like, maybe we could trick it?'
'Oh yeah, yeah I remember learning that, can't remember what it's called though. Wasn't it like year two potions or some shit', Blaise draws his eyes off of Enzo, searching our faces to see if we remember as well.
'Polyjuice', Mattheo speaks up and we all turn to him as he pulls out his muggle phone from his pocket.
'No way you got one of those too?', I rolls my eyes in his direction, everyone but Blaise and I have muggle phones now. I WILL be talking to my father about this later on.
'Yeah, birthday present from dad', Mattheo sighs before flipping it around to show the ingredients for polyjuice.'
'Leeches, shredded bloomslang skin, a piece from the chosen person to transform into like an eyelash for fingernail clipping, powdered bicorn horn, and lacewing flies that have been stewed for 21 days', Blaise reads the list aloud from Mattheo's phone.
'So we're fucked', Enzo peels his eyes off the screen. 'There's no time to stew lacewing flies and there's no way we can get our hands on powered bicorn horn.'
'Dark web?', Theo pulls out his phone now too, presumably to start searching.
'Maybe we just shouldn't do this', I look at my friends and I can tell they don't feel the same way.
'You joking Malfoy?', Blaise chuckles.
'Yeah funny one', Enzo reaches into his pocket to get out his phone too.
'This is our only shot at competing', Theo starts up, 'next time we'll be graduated from school.'
'Nah guys, Draco's probably right', Mattheo chucks his phone into the centre of the bed from defeat. 'I'd be so down if you lot and can your hands on all that shit, but even if you order it with express owl there's no way it'll make it here in time. And even if it does, there's no way to tell if we'll even get the potion right.'
Enzo tucks his phone back into his robe pocket and the rest of the boys slump against my bed posts in disappointment. I'm glad they've agreed with Mattheo. I know they believe it when he says these kind of things, because that guy will do anything you offer him too. To be genuine, I wasn't so keen on entering in the Triwizard anyways. Not because I don't think I'd make it through the challenges, because obviously I would, but because I didn't want to be such a show off. That, and the fact my Father would most probably kill me.
