A life unasked for

I cannot take it anymore,
Living a life I didn’t ask for.
Each breath feels heavier than the last,
Trapped in the echoes of a haunted past.

But I am expected to live,
In a world that takes more than it can give.
Isn’t it unfair that problems come when I’m happy,
Like a storm chasing the light, turning skies cloudy.

No matter how far I run or where I hide,
The darkness always finds a way inside.
It clings to my soul, refusing to part,
Leaving only shadows to fill my heart.
